Model l32hd31r will not work with cox cable box.

Perhaps the person meant that he did not need to use a cable box. He evidently had Cox cable service. Do you have Cox cable service?

Check all ur tv inputs cables connections from the back of the tv,for like AV components and or HDMI cables for losed connections or damages cables wires.If u have cable boxes,satalite boxes or telicom compannies boxes and it plug in 24/7?Yes?Unplugs,replugs those boxes and the tv also back about an hour later.For those boxes to reboot and upgraded it softwares and the tv to do a resetting itself back to the tv factory settings.Than goes into the tv menu,go to the tv Audio Settings,to do a whole resetting to all the audio settings back to the tv factory Audio Settings.These steps,will help for ur tv to have and to get it audio sound back again.

If cox says it won't work on their system, there's nothing you can do to legally make that unit work. There may even be no physical way to make it work if it's simply using different frequencies or protocols than COX uses.
If you want cable internet from COX, you will have to call them and have them install it. Chances are they won't even charge you for the cable box, or it will be a very small monthly fee - and your internet usage will be on top of that.

Phillips SRU 8008 Prestigo Universal Remote works with the RCA L32HD31R Flat Screen TV and a cable box & etc.

The word from RCA technical support is that the remote for the L32HD31R operates on a different frequency and there is currently NO universal remote on the market that will work with the set. They say that they have plans to market a universal remote and that they are working with other manufactuers of remotes but there is no resolution or time frame available. In short, you will have to use two remotes and keep checking the RCA website for a breakthrough.

I'm not sure that I would have bought the TV if I'd known.

The Model L32HD31R, according to RCA, is not "code compatible". It cannot work with a universal remote, or cable/satellite remote. this is peculiar for a company like RCA, however I just bought the same model from Wal*Mart, and companies build models for certain stores. This one was built on the cheap, and one of the things left out of the mix was the "code compatibility".

1st-how do you have your "cox" cable box [you could have said it was a cox cable box!!] connected.Can you 'get a picture' through the TV without the VCR ? Do that! disconnect the VCR from the line and plug the TV directly to the "cox" box.Does it work? Are any of the cables connected from cox to VCR to TV damaged.? Let me know how you have the three(3) equipments connected.
