Could not install driver for x5470 on second xp

Try downloading the latest driver from Lexmark WEB site.
You can download the Lexmark printer drivers from theirsupport WEB site. Please click on this link and select your model printer todownload :-http://support.lexmark.com/index?page=home&locale=EN&userlocale=EN_US&segment=DOWNLOAD

There is not Windows 7 Driver for this printer, you'll need to install the driver through "Compatibility Mode" using the Windows XP or Windows Vista driver.
Download windows vista driver here (Click Here), open the link, click "Download" button, wait for few seconds and save it. After the download's completed, right-click the downloaded file, select "Properties" then on the "Properties" window, click "Compatibility", select "Run this program in compatibility mode for :" select "Windows Vista.." from the available options. Select "Turn of Advanced text services for this program", click "Apply" then "Ok". You'll be able to install the driver on your Windows 7 computer.

If this isn't possible, first extract the downloaded file and do the same steps mentioned above to the "Setup.exe" file.

You can download the Lexmark X5470 driver (for free) from the Lexmark website. Just click on this link: Lexmark X5470 Drivers. To select your operating system, click on change OS.


Then click on FILTER.


Click on the driver under Recommended Downloads.
Download, execute the file and follow the instructions on your computer.

On the page which opens, select the operating system (Windows XP/Vista,etc..) of your computer to download the appropriate driver.

Yes, You should have no problems. I believe the Acer aspire one comes with windows XP installed so you will just need to go to the Lexmark.com site and download the driver for the Lexmark X5470 for Windows XP and install it.

To install your printer do as follows:

A) If you have the CD that came with the printer:

• run the CD to install the driver and the software;
• follow the installation instructions
• do not connect the printer to the computer prior to installing the driver/software; do it only after the installation process is concluded or if and when the install wizard instructs you do do so.

B) If you don't have a CD:

• download the correct driver for your system from LEXMARK:

  Note that here are four different drivers for your printer: one for MAC systems, and three for Windows systems (Windows Vista 32, Windows Vista 64 and Windows XP/2000). Make sure you download the right one. To access the Windows drivers, click on the 'Microsoft' tab.

1. Go to the Lexmark Find Drivers/Product Selector page.
2. Enter Lexmark X5470 under "Search by Model", and click the Search button.
3. Select your OS from the dropdown (XP, Vista etc.).
4. Click Download Now.
5. If you're asked to Save or Run, choose to Run (it keeps you from having to go find the file and double-click it later).
