I would figure that you would start with the modem feeding the N300, then connecting the XBOX by cable to the netgear, and then using the laptop wirelessly through the netgear...The modem should feed the Netgear so the Netgear can split the signal...
Make sure that your computer is able to go online through the modem. If your computer is not able to go online through the modem then you will need to call ISP first. If your computer is able to go online through the modem then you need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router. open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.
This is beacuse there is NAT on the router for which you need to open certain TCP/UDP Ports on the router . but firtstly you need to Bridge the Verizon DSl Modem set up the internet connection as per same .
If you have an original Xbox the online capability is obsolete and will no longer be supported by Microsoft if you have an Xbox 360 you need to purchase an xbox live account either at a retail location or online through your xbox dashboard (internet and credit card required). You need to connect a network cable to the back of the xbox the other end to your router or modem to access Xbox live. They also sell a wireless network adaptor for the 360 that you can use instead of a wired connection.
Basically the PS3 wireless settings needs to be configures with the Netgear wireless router settings.
To test if the modem is connects to the Internet, connect a computer into the modem, if it works then the modem is configured correctly. If it doesn't work, then contact your ISP and get them to test your modem connection.

usually by connecting to it at the address 192.168.1.1
but you should download the manual to make sure.
once your connected, you need to set the cable modem setting (if any) or just set it to Automatic or DHCP for it to automatically connect to the cable modem, and then send out the signal on the wireless.
did you install the modem software and the router software? you may also want to use the network wizard to see what it tells you. are you wired or wireless at the pc? if a laptop, did you install the wireless connection (either a usb or internal)?
here is how to set up the network. netgear is the same way.
Check the security settings in the router . try 192.168.0.1 in your browser and check the access/security. Alternately reset the modem using button on back next to Ariel and press for 5 secs. Your computer firewall may be a problem or there may be an address conflict with your other modem.
As you say that, you are able to go online with the modem, connect your modem- router and laptop witha cable and check if you are able to go online with the router wired first, if yes, then the w/ls settings has to be checked..open your w/ls network connection, remove your preferred wireless network and then try to reconnect again and check.. if you are not able to gon online wired with the router, disconnect power cables from modem- router , wait for 10 sec, and reconnect it , wait till all the lights come up and then reconnect, check if you are able to go online if not your router has to be reconfigured,,
