Want to install printer on computer but do not have software.

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR PRINTER SET ON DEFAULT AND THAT IT IS INSTALLED PROPERLY! OR YOU CAN ALSO TRY...UNHOOKING YOUR PRINTER, SHUT DOWN YOUR COMPUTER AND HOOK YOUR PRINTER BACK UP BEFORE RESTARTING TO LET YOUR COMPUTER INSTALL YOUR PRINTER.

IF YOUR COMPUTER DOESN'T RECOGINIZE NEW HARDWARE, SUCH AS YOUR PRINTER, THAN IT IS NOT SET AS YOUR DEFAULT PRINTER!

YOUR SOFTWARE MAY NEED TO BE CORRECTLY INSTALLED, MAKE SURE YOUR PRINTER IS NOT HOOKED UP WHEN INSTALLING SOFTWARE.

SOFTWARE HAS BE INSTALLED FIRST, AND RECOGNIZED...THEN RESTART COMPUTER WITH PRINTER (HARDWARE) HOOKED UP!

Make sure your Computer have wirelesscapabilities in order to connect to the HP wireless printer. This is how to doit. 1. Insert the CD that comes withthe wireless HP printer into any computer that will use the printer. This willallow to setup the initial software and allow you to configure the initialnetwork settings. 2. Choose where to install thesoftware and which components of the software to install. Typical componentsfor HP printers include the network utility and project creation software. Ifyou already have software for project creation, you don't need to install this.You won't need to install either component for other computers in order to usethe printer. 3. Turn on the HP printer whenprompted. Don't connect it to a computer unless directed by the software. Ifthe printer isn't recognized by the software, you may be asked to temporarilyconnect it via a provided USB cable. 4. Choose a printer name and an IPaddress. The IP address can be dynamic or you can create a static IP address.For larger networks, dedicate a static IP address or allow the HP software tochoose a static IP for you to prevent conflicts on your network. 5. Press "Continue" tocomplete the wireless HP printer installation. The entire process can take upto 30 minutes if you install all software components. 6. Install the printer on othercomputers by going to "Start -- Printers and Faxes -- Add a Printer."Choose "A Network Printer" to view a list of network printers. Choosethe printer name from Step 4 to install and access the wireless printer.

It could be a communications error message, the printer is not communicating with the computer.

Disconnect and then reconnect the USB cable.

Disconnect and then reconnect the printer power cable.

Restart the computer.

Remove and reinstall the printer software

If your printer does not function properly or communication error messages appear when using your printer, you can remove and reinstall the printer software.

1. Click Start®Programs or All Programs®Dell Printers®Dell Photo AIO Printer 962®Uninstall Dell Photo AIO Printer 962.
   
   
2. Follow the instructions on the computer screen to remove the printer software.
   
   
3. Restart your computer before installing the software again.
   
   
4. Insert the Drivers and Utilities CD, and then follow the instructions on the computer screen to install the software.
   
   

If the installation screen does not appear:

1. In Windows XP, click Start®My Computer.
   
   

In Windows 2000, double-click My Computer from your desktop.

1. Double-click the CD-ROM drive icon. If necessary, double-click setup.exe.

Before you made several attempts to install you Epson Printer Software.Did you Uninstall the software first? To reinstall your Printer Software . The old program that did not work properly has to be uninstalled. Go to your Add and Remove Programs In your Contol Panel and uninstall your Epson Printer Program Software .Then restart your computer.Then try Re-installing your Epson Printer Software.

Take the CD-ROM that came with the printer, and install the software.
When prompted, connect the printer to your computer.

If you have lost the CD-ROM disk, you can download the software from Kodak's web-site.

You can go straight to Supports and Drivers to download software after you select the OS your using. Or choose setup and install which verifies your installation.
With this printer, I would select the first and biggest Driver software to download and install. After installation, I would click the first tab on the download page to continuously update the hp software.

Please do not connect the printer to the computer until software is installed, and the computer has re-booted.
I found this out the hard way.

When hp printer software is installed, and the computer has re-booted, connect the printer to the computer using the your chosen link, or the USB link, and make sure the printer is on. You will see some reaction coming from your computer, and in a little while you'll be ready to operate your printer.

Since you plan to using most of the feature with this printer, I would go back and select additional software and updates that I think I would need for this printer.

You can install the printer software both either using the cd software that is included in the package or you can download the software www.hp.com/support. Make sure that you are installing the correct printer operating software. instead of doing a recommended installation choose advance install and uncheck the software that you think that is not needed by you. hp solution center is an important software. also the hp imaging device. but before you proceed in installing make sure that your anti-virus, firewall, spyware are turned off. There are times that the printer software function will not work because it is being blocked by the firewall, spyware and anti-virus. enjoy installing the printer.

Disconnect printer from computer
Install the software from the CD-ROM that came with printer or download the software from support.hp.com.
Make sure printer is on.
Connect printer to computer when prompted by software install or when finished installing.

First, disconnected the printer from the computer and turn it off.
if you have the CD that came with the pirnter, install the software from the CD.
if not go to the link and download the driver and software

restart the computer, turn on the printer and connect the printer to the computer.

Did you install the software first, and then plug in the printer? Or did you connect the printer and then install the software? For most newer USB printers, you need to install the software before you plug the printer into the computer, then at a certain point, their software (not Windows) tells you when to connect the printer.
