Hi,

Your post could be attended to by:

  • do a clean/fresh re-install of the Operating System. You can borrow a WIndows CD instaler as long as it matches your OS;
  • do a System Restore to the earliest possible.
Alternately, a couple of suggestions:
  • increase your swap file/virtual memory to roughly double your physical memory;
  • defrag your main hard drive;
  • Trim/slim down your startup files (msconfig), uncheck unnecessary programs;
  • select "Adjust for best performance" in your Performance Options (System Properties);
  • Verify that you do not have any virus or malwares lurking somewhere.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

1. go to START -PROGRAMS - STARTUP- right cliuck on and delete all here-(this wont delete programs, just make it so you have to start them manually from the start menu)- this IS what you want.
2. while your viewing your desktop, any icons showing next to your clock on the taskbar in the lower right of your screen are RUNNING. usually its stuff like your internet connection, virus protection, etc.
you want to turn off any of these not neccessary (example:realplayer,yahoo messenger,myspace messenger, etc.) Some might require the program to be running and loggin in before the preferences are shown and most have a box with something like " [] start when windows starts" and you just need to uncheck it and hit apply.
3. if you havent got ATF cleaner, its a must have and will empty all your temp files on demand, i use it everytime i log off the internet . its free here http://www.atribune.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=25&Itemid=25 just click on the red atfcleaner button to start the download , download it to your desktop. its fast and saves you from having to manually del all the internet **** you collect as you browse.
4. you may also want to disable unused services and programs through MSCONFIG, i could write a term paper on that, but its a bit much for now.
Do steps one through three and post here if you need step four..
please rate & may the force be with you.....

It is stuck on pc health status gadget moveing slow never finshs

Same here. But you don't need to install the Health Gadget. Go back into the install option, and do not choose 'typical', but choose the alternative (the parts you want to install). It'll give you to option to unclick the 'Health gadget' option. Unclick it, and the System Mechanic will install. (The health gadget is just a visible reminder on your desktop, and is not needed)

Averatec 7100 laptop factory recovery disc

Most times the recovery discs don't work. Why not just get an operating system disk and reinstall the operating system?

Have you tried doing a System Restore? System Restore will let you select a Restore Point (date and time) before you started having problems. System Restore will not delete your data, documents, music, pictures, videos or programs (unless the program was installed after the Restore Point you selected). System Recovery on the other hand will delete everything and set your system back to the point when you first purchased it.

To start System Restore click Start/Programs or Start/All Programs. Click Accessories/System Tools/System Restore. When it opens you will have the option to select another restore point (date and time) than the one shown.

Loading songs on ipod

Usb 1 is not very slow, maybe computer system is busy doing some other services which is unknown to you.

if you plan to restore computer back to original state. you should back up first the important files(personal files any files that is important to you.)

system restore is not quite good except , you have an original windows system cd enclosed in your computer. doing this; insert cd and boot the computer using the cd.

If non of those; then you should provide windows cd and reinstall your windows: doing this; insert cd and boot the computer using the cd.

just follow the onscreen instructions.

some drivers of your computer notify me with the brand , model, motherboard details. if in case.
