Yes it is , the belt has to be replaced yearly even if it isn't broken because it gets too stretched out.

Greetings from GoVacuum,

It seems like you may have a belt problem. The best way to see if your belt is broken, is to turn the vacuum cleaner on and turn it upside down, and see of the brush roller is spinning while the vacuum is running.

If the brushes are NOT spinning, you will need to replace your belt. If you would like to email me with the make and model number (model numbers are located on the back, or the bottom of the vacuum) I would be happy to walk you through the belt change. I really enjoy sharing my knowledge and passion for fixing and selling vacuum cleaners.

I hope this helps you.

Hoover cyclean brush stopped revolving

The belt may be broken or worn If your cleaner is not picking up fluff and hair from the carpet or has become heavy to push it is possible that the belt has snapped. This belt makes the sweeping brushes spin round underneath the cleaner and brush dirt into the path of the air suction. The brushes also give that 'groomed' look to your carpet by gently brushing the carpet fibre. If you pick up something sharp or debris gets jammed in the brushes then the belt may snap. Also over time your belt will stretch, so it's a good idea to change your belt once per year to ensure the cleaner picks up dirt effectively.

Brush won't spin when carpet cleaner is running

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
If the vacuum cleaner brush is not spinning, the brushroll bearing might be jammed. Try removing the brushroll assembly and cleaning all hair, string, lint, etc. from the brushroll bearing. If that doesn't solve the problem the brushroll may need to be replaced.
If the vacuum cleaner brush is not spinning, the brushroll assembly itself might be jammed. Try removing the brushroll assembly and cleaning all hair, string, lint, etc. from the brushroll bearings. If that doesn't solve the problem the brushroll may need to be replaced.

If the vacuum cleaner brush is not spinning the cogged belt might be broken, stretched out too much, or might have fallen off. Check the belt and replace as needed.

Why does my vacuum leave a trail of hair on my floors when it's being pulled backward but suction up fine when it's going forward?

It is because the belt is worn and stretched. when you go forward there isn' t as much resistance and the brush can turn and pick up, but when you go back there is more resistance and doesn't pick up. You simply need to replace the belt. Here is the belt you need:

Cleaned hair/string buildup around beater bar , put everything back in place now vacuum makes knocking noise and has that burning rubber smell.

This sounds like the beater belt is slipping and may be due to the fact that the beater brush is not secured correctly or there is debris / grease build up inder the belt. Try cleaning it with Methylated Spirit and repalce the belt. Do not clean the belt with this. Also do not use Surgical Spitit as it leaves an oil residue. If the belt is still a problem then replace it.

Eureka Altima Vacuum Cleaner w/Power Paw

The way I resolved the problem was to remove the cover at the end of the power paw. Then remove the so side black covers for the shaft. Remove any debris and hair and then put back together. This solved my problem.
