The belt may be broken or worn If your cleaner is not picking up fluff and hair from the carpet or has become heavy to push it is possible that the belt has snapped. This belt makes the sweeping brushes spin round underneath the cleaner and brush dirt into the path of the air suction. The brushes also give that 'groomed' look to your carpet by gently brushing the carpet fibre. If you pick up something sharp or debris gets jammed in the brushes then the belt may snap. Also over time your belt will stretch, so it's a good idea to change your belt once per year to ensure the cleaner picks up dirt effectively.

Hoover Whole House Bagless Upright. Belt Changed but Brushes arent moving

Take off the bootom plate and remove the brush assembly. Inspect both ends for any hair, string or anything else that might prevent it from revolving. Check to see that the ends are lubricated with some grease, just a bit. It should take care of the problem. The ends should turn easily and smoothly.

Brush on vacuum stop spining (HOOVER U-5753-960) Thank You

A worn out carbon brushes of vacuum will cause that motor spinning stop. Because brush no longer capable of pushing a stator or rotor hence electromagnet windings motor will not meet each other.
Have a brush replacement be customize in a nearby machine shop or find brush replacement on hardware store.
Look also for the possibility of loose wiring of the vacuum, check it also.
Thanks for asking.

My hoover spin scrub machine has stopped scrubbing. It still dispenses and pulls up the water, but the brushes don't move. I've checked the on off button for brush control and cycled it to off and back on,...

There is a filter on the front right hand side of my F5871-900 Hoover. If you remove the plastic covering and clean that filter (wet finger may do), you're Hoover will begin spinning again!

Hoover SteamVac Deep Cleaner

I can't seem to figure out how to use it =(

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Hoover F5807 SteamVac Wet/Dry Vacuum. Well, there are 2 tanks, one is the water solution tank that is on top and the other is the water recovery tank of which is on the bottom. You use the trigger assm to release the water and the Hoover SteamVac works the best on the pull back. You can spry the water going forward but pull it back very slowly and let the brushes do the scrubbing for you and the dirty water pickup. There is a ball in the dirty water pup tank that will rise to the top and stop the water from coming in, @ that point you need to empty and rinse out the recovery tank and re-install. If you run out of solution the top tank cap or cover is the measuring cup to determine the amount of solution – usually it is one cap full and extremely hot water, there is a switch for the carpet and the upholstery, if the handle is in the released position then the brushes down below should be moving – just look in the brushes window and see if they are moving – if the handle is in the upright position then you can remove the attachment hose and then use the attachment and the revolving brushes will stop. I hope this will help you in working with the Hoover SteamVac. If not contact the Hoover Co and get an owner’s manual and give them the model # and serial #. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
