1.Log on to your computer and print a test page to the printer. Click on the "Start" button, choose "Control Panel" and then "Printers and Faxes." Right-click on the laser printer, choose "Properties" from the drop-down menu and click the "Print test page" box. 3.Open the printer cover and carefully pull out the toner cartridge. Set the cartridge aside while you open the box containing the new toner. Pull the new toner out but do not yet remove any of the packaging materials. Compare the weight of the new toner with the old one. If the old toner is very light, it is nearly empty and should be replaced.

The toner box is probably full. The toner box is a clear box on the left side when you open the front cover. The box has the labels Y, M, C, and K on it. Pull it out using the tab at the bottom. find a place to empty it. You can do this by turning it upside down and gently tapping it. If the box is full some toner may be outside of the box causing the sensor to be blocked even after it is empty. You may want to clean the box, toner cartriges and inside the cavity with qtip, tissue paper (without lotion), or air.
