Hi gjoun...
You will need "Chain and Bar" oil to lube the chain and bar. Special oil made just to lubricate the chain and bar as the chain is running.
For the engine you can use the low grade of gasoline...and 2 cycle oil.
Fuel mix...50 to 1 = 1pint of 2 cycle oil to 6 gallons of gasoline.

What type oil for chainsaw, both w/gas for fuel and also chain lubrication

You mix 2 stroke oil with the petrol/gas at a rate of 40:1 (40 parts petrol to 1 oil). For longer life use a good quality oil like Husqvarna or Stihl rather than the cheaper types you buy at car service stations.

The oil you use for the chain lubrication is just known as chain oil and can be bought at tool hire outlets.

I have a craftsman gas chain saw model 358.352180. It leaks oil from underneath the saw even when not in use.

Make sure you drain the oil when storing your saw. That's because the saw is designed to supply a generous amount of oil to the chain and bar.

No oil on chain

Oleg; Is this your saw? There is no breakdown for the oil pump the entire assembly is <$9, and the worm gear that drives it was <$1.
A link to a Poulan PP3816 Gas Saw Type 2 follows (may not be your saw):

If the link is not your saw it can be found here.
The IPL (exploded parts list) for your saw is the only detail for the oil system and it is sketchy at best. Oil components and part numbers are listed but may be on different illustrations. They are also beneficial with disassembly/reassembly:

The dash number of your serial number is the type.

What type of oil is used in electric chiansaw

The oil to use for the chain is called BAR OIL and if there is anything that might be universal, it is BAR OIL. You can use BAR OIL on electric and non electric saws alike. Self sharpening and non-self shaprening chains. Any manufacturer. It is BAR OIL.

Do not use any other kind of oil in your saw. BAR OIL is particularly sticky and hangs on to the chain even while cutting the wood at high speed.

What kind of oil do I use in the oil reservoir of my chain saw?

I believe the reservoir you are talking about is for the bar chain oil. You can get it most anywhere. As for mixing the gas and oil mixture, you will need 2 cycle oil. It is available most everywhere also. Most modern chain saws use a 50:1 mixing ratio which means 2 1/2 ounces of oil to 1 gallon of gas. Hope this helps.

What type of oil do i use in my remington 3hp electric chain saw

According to the manufacturer... Use SAE 30 motor oil for best results. (For temperatures below 30° F, use SAE 10. For temperatures above 75° F, use SAE 40.) DO NOT use Bar & Chain oil.
