Your new radio is likely not programmed the same as the others. A continual tone indicates a channel which is not programmed (doesn't have a frequency installed).

The other thing which can cause a tone, is a low or uncharged battery. You might try switching one of the known good batteries to the new radio to see if it will work. If you still have the same continual tone with a known good battery installed, you have a programming issue. If the battery swap solves the problem, then you need to investigate why your battery isn't charged up.

Either way, contact the dealer where you purchased the BPR40, they should provide programming free, or a warranty replacement battery for free. If you ordered online or by mail, and you just received the radio within the week, you should request they provide return shipping for you.

Best regards.

Is motorola cls-1110 compatible with bpr40 radios

yes, with conditions. The CLS comes preprogrammed with frequencies and tone codes. The BPR requires software and cables. It is not a preprogrammed business radio, but a fully programmable business radio. If your BPR radios are first: UHF, then they can be programmed to match the CLS. Do note, a few of the CLS frequencies are approved by the FCC for low power only, meaning a maximum of 2 watt power output. Find a dealer willing to do the programming for you if you do not understand. Our shop does it often.

How do I set to scan BPR 40

This is only done through use of the programming software and cable. Your radio would need to be reprogrammed.

What do the buttons on the bpr 40 do?

Both buttons have a short and a long press function. The button right below the PTT button is typically programmed to short press Monitor, long press Sticky Monitor. The bottom button comes from the factory on scan/nuisance channel delete. The buttons can be custom programmed when the dealer is programming the radio, so these are just a general guess based on the factory default setting. Other options include repeater talkaround, high/low power, volume set, and maybe tight loose squelch.

Best regards.

I just bought a Behringer K3000FX amp and it sounds GREAT with my keyboard. However, just bought a Shure SM48S voice mic and it just doesn't come thru the amp with much volumn...have to turn amp

Greetings! Ok, your amp has an XLR (3-prong) Low-Impedance input on Channel 1 for a Mic. All the other inputs are 1/4" High Impedance inputs, which are for instruments and/or other High Impedance items including low quality High Impedance Microphones. The SM48S is a high quality Low Impedance microphone, so if you use it with a 1/4" plug, it will be in a High Impedance channel, and will be very LOW in volume in comparison with everything else. So, you must use an XLR (3 prong) cable from the Mic to the Channel 1 input on your amp. That will do the trick. Good Luck with your new amp and Mic!

I can hear people fine, but my volume to them is very low. i have checked the swr. when i key up the needle goes to 3

On some radio's that are bone stock with a stock mic you have to speak directly into the mic and not mumble;as for your swr if it's high on channel 1 and low on channel 40 you need to shorten your antenna if it's low on 1 and high on 40 you need to lengthen your antenna.Good Luck. Dan

I installed a browning br-51 cb antenna on my cb radio.

You need to shorten the antenna, adjust the whip all the way down and see what you have and then cut off 1/4" at a time remember this low on 1 high on 40 it needs to be lengthened high on 1 low on 40 it needs to be shortened . I hope this helps and good luck.
