    Hi,

This just happened to me and the electronic board fried. The techs told me this is a common problem as GE is on their fourth revision of this board. $285.00 installed. Good luck!

SOURCE: GE refrigerator not cooling

on most refrigeration, the refrigerant goes to the freezer first and the tail end to the fridge. it is probable that the compressor is failing. compressors are quite hotg when running but not too hot to touch. if the compressor is too hot that also indicates failure. doubt it is worth repair

SOURCE: temperature 94 in refrig. normal in freezer

Check to see if refrigerator door is lower than freezer door. If so remove toe panel, (bottom front). Under refrigerator door hinge at bottom right is adjuster for door. Adjust upward so door is even. On some models when door is too low it causes light to stay on some times, raising ref. temps.

SOURCE: Side by side refrig./freezer does not cold.

Are the heat exchange coils behind or under the refrigerator clean?
Are the fans running smoothly? Check for bent blades and bend them back if necessary.
Is the evaporating pan under the refrigerator dry.? Then the drain of the defroster may be blocked. Unblock with a steam generator or a long plastic tube.

Vegetables in crisper are frozen, as well as liquids in bottom 1/2 of fridge door. The fridge & freezer temp controls won't adjust to our settings. Also, we're getting ice, but no water will dispense.

The freezer cools the refrigerator, so you actually get very cold air passing from the freezer to the refrig. The air from the freezer enters the refrig on the top and falls to the bottom where it is drawn back into the freezer. The temperature of the refrig is regulated by a thermostat and a fan that runs when the thermostat calls for cooling. If the refrig thermostat is faulty and causes the fan to run more than it should, there will be a freezing problem in the refrig at the bottom because cold air falls and warm air rises. If the refrig is thermostat is calling for cooling constantly, this will take more cold air from the freezer than is normal. Your freezer temp might be higher than normal and the refrig will be colder then desired. If the fan from the freezer is running constantly I would suspect a bad refrig thermostat.

Items in refrig are freezing when they're not supposed to.

Fridge is warm with no cold air.

Unless there are 2 thermostats, one for freezer and one for refrig, it's not the thermostat if the freezer is ok. Sounds like the small fan that blows the cold air from freezer into refrig is not operating.

Swan fridge freezer-freezer dones,nt get down to temperature but fridge is working fine.if you turn up the thermostat the fridge acts like a freezer

There is a damper door that opens and closes when you move the thermostat. I would bet the door is functioning incorrectly. All the cooling of a refrig comes from the freezer and gets blown into the refrigerator compartment. If that damper door is open too far it will have constant freezer air blowing in....and if it's not open enough obviously the refrig will not get cool. Look at the upper left corner of your refrigerator, the center rear wall of the refrig or just feel around for a vent will cool air blowing out of it......Then take it apart and see if anything is broken.

Fan cycling low and high

The freezer fan slows down due to the refrigerator section being at the desired setting but the freezer section still needing coolant . If the refrig section needed more coolant , the fan would speed up , forcing more air into the refrig section .
After replacing the heater , it could be in the defrost cycle . The thermistors tell the main control board , " hey , we're freezing , turn on some heat " , in which the heater comes on and defrosts the coils , until behind the rear freezer panel , can get up to 140 degrees . As it gets this hot , the frozen food in the freezer , is what keeps the freezer cold . After defrost , the fan comes on and blows the residual heat into the refrig sectio , until the coils get cold again . So , if the refrig section warms up temporarily , it's normal .

GE GSS25KSWA

check freezer for frost build up and if fan blowing, check condenser make sure clean, and fan blowing, check vents in refrig. make sure no blockage, freezer control should be in the middle setting, you can try turning that to Warmer freezer allowing MORE air to refrigertor side.
