Hello,
Remove the TV from the wall, leave it for about 30mins, plug the TV back into the wall and turn it back on. If it still doesn't turn on, then it is a certainly a power supply board problem.
The issue you describe is consistent with a power supply board issue. This is the board where the AC goes to. This problem may have occurred as a result of irregular power supply, or excess power supply or power surge.
The TV is receiving current but cannot circulate or transfer the current to other necessary part of the TV because of the defective power supply board. You might be lucky it's just a blow fuse. Also a defective transformer can cause your TV not to power on.
All these can be checked on the power supply board.
But more often bad capacitors causes problem on the power supply board. I do not think the power board needs replacement, rather those defective capacitors is causing this issue. Open unit up and take a look at the power supply board. You will probably see one or more electrolytic filter capacitors that are bulged up in the top-not perfectly flat like the others.
The value of these capacitors will be different, most likely they will be somewhere around-820 to 2200uF/25 V( or /10V sometimes).
You can replace them with same values but I would recommend the voltage rating to be higher(like 35V for an original 25V) for reliability purposes.
What happens is,these bulged top capacitors will cause a low and unfiltered DC voltage=main board will malfunction(the relay will keep clicking until the caps are holding enough charge to bring the voltage up over a threshold point).
You can buy these capacitors at any Fry's or Radioshack store or you can order them online at vendors like "mcmelectronics.com"(look for electrolytic capacitors). After replacing these capacitor(capacitors) most likely the normal operation will be restored. Or you can by a refurbished complete power board to save you some stress.
Note: There may be also some other causes for this symptom ,like a defective T con board ,or main board, but the bulged top capacitors are the most common cause for this issue.
If you don't know about TV repairers, take the TV to the nearest repairman to fix the fault for you. Also, note that TV stores a lot of current, so wait a while before opening the TV back cover.
I hope this helps.
Regards.
Hello neilo28363,
When you have the power light flashing on the television, then it means there is a problem with the television. First look around the television there is supposed to be a reset button somewhere on the television or go through the manual to see if the television can be resetted. If resetable, then you reset the television, but if not resettable, you need to turn on the television without the USB connected to the television.
If the television does not turn on that way, then it means there is a problem with the unit of the television. There are three thngs to look out for on the television. The lamp, the power board and the main board.
Unplug the television, leave it for the high voltage on it to dissipate, then you turn to the back of the television and unscrew the screws around the back cover and take off the back cover.
First check the lamp if it is burnt, if it is, then you just have to replaced the lamp of the television.
Then the next step is for you to lift up the power board to check for bad capacitors on it, if there are any bad capacitors, then you need to solder it off the board and replace it with a new one.
But if you do not find any bad capacitors on the power board, then you need to assess the main board of the television to ceck for bad capacitors there, once any is found, replace it with a new one.
After carrying out these steps, you should be able to solve the problem.
Would be glad to know if this information helped you.
All the best.

I'm assuming that the USB has been correctly formatted before you tried to record to it (to FAT32) and its Disk has been set accordingly so the system's firmware hasn't been corrupted by bad commands.
The flashing indicates that the power source is in protected mode - a big short has been detected on one of the output power lines and the power source board has been shut down by its protection system to prevent further damage. This happens when an actual part fails and it's unrelated to what the tv was doing at the time when that happened. The tv will have to be opened and the power source tested to identify the failed part - a job for a pro, you will need to take the tv to a repair shop.
Since this had happened the moment you have tried to start the tv then clearly this is a power source failure and the only way to fix that is to access the board and test it. For that at least basic knowledge of electronics is necessary and a minimum of tools: a multimeter, a soldering iron and a solder pump. If you don't have all of these there is no way you can fix it yourself.

i done everything as instrusted in the manual, and the set worked fine until it was turned off, then the problem started.i am in an isolated area and dont have anywhere to take it to,so really need to be able to try and get it working myself..so would like another option please
what do the capacitors look like?
hey thanks for that have had a look and they all look ok,they have to be cut off with heat and then re soldered?have got football final on saturday and really tryin to get set going for that..
