Myfrig is freezing my food. What shouldI have it set at?

• If food in the bottom of the refrigerator is freezing, this could be caused by a refrigerator not having enough food to absorb the cold air.
• If food in the door is freezing, move the door bins up or down so they are one notch away from freezer vents (Side by Side models only).
• The fresh food control should be at the normal setting of 5.

Freezer on Top Models

• Since the cold air coming into the fresh food section originates in the freezer above, the rear of the top shelf will be the coldest spot in the fresh food area. Avoid placing delicate items that freeze easily on the back half of this shelf.
• If food is freezing in the produce (fruits and vegetables) or meat pan, it may be that the temperature controls are not set high enough. Since cold air naturally falls, the pans can get too cold if the refrigerator is not running long enough to maintain good air circulation. Adjust both controls up one notch.

Do you just adjust the fresh food side or do you adjust the freezer setting too? Post the model # . does the unit have knobs or buttons for setting temp? Does food freeze in one particular part of the fresh food side or evenly throughout?

well i'm not exactly sure what fridge you have but that is usually caused by the what they call a baffle...which is a flap that opens and closes to let the cold air from the freezer to the fresh food side. It sounds as if the baffle is stuck open or moving way too slowly and thus freezing your fresh food. You can find a part number and price at partsselect.com all you need is your model number. That seems a good idea.

usually there is an adjustment at the back for the difference between the fridge and freezer compartment. Often is just a vane that blocks freezer air, too much air would freeze the food. Normally you set the fridge thermostat for a normal food temp, then adjust the air to keep the food warmer than the freezer.

hi! you already the solution of the food freezing problem.the cause was occurs because the thermostat was not duly calibrated..it recommended for calibration.
