fire your jump man and send them, the bill. here is what to do.
check all fuses. first, as in ALL , all in cab and all in engine bay
then scan the oBD2 port at drivers knee's scan it and see what blew up.
or get it can fixed in a real shop.
IT SOUNDS LIKE WHEN IT WAS JUMPSTARTED THE CABLES MIGHT HAVE BEEN CROSSED FOR JUST A SECOND AND IT MIGHT HAVE BLOWN A COUPLE OF FUSESS YOU MIGHT WANT TO START THERE.
You have a possible issue with the voltage regualtor inside of your alternator. You can drive to Autozone & have them test for under voltage & overvoltage condition, appears to be a voltage regulator failing.

Battery is likely dead. Check alternator for charge current. Suspect alternator has failed. If you have a voltmeter, check voltage at battery after jumpstart and removing jumper cables (I'm assuming the engine will run for at least a few seconds). Voltage should be at least 14 vdc. If not replace alternator. If you don't have a voltmeter, you can remove the alternator and take it to the parts store to be checked. Any more questions, please reply.
sounds like a lifter is bleeding out or starving for oil at low revs
check oil level and oil pressure
if thats good lifter or tappet clearance next to check
is engine seviced regularly?
slugde build up can cause problems also
if V6 petrol see a lot of worn valve guides causing noise worse when warm and noise comes in and out at 1200RPM
tappet clearance issue noise would be there all the time
lifter can also come and go while holding revs up
connect Heavy Duty jumper cables from battery of a running car to the battery of your TT making sure you get polarities right way round hold the running car in neutral at 2000-3000 RPM for a couple of mins then try starting TT
vacuum leak......bad tps.......bad mass airflow meter system........any of those are suspect...... also check for bad ground at battery to be sure all is not computer freak out from bad readings ...good luck
