Ocassional flickering
Not sure what the problem is, but am experiencing the same symptoms every few minutes on a Mitsu Diamond Pro 91TXM, just retrieved from storage after 7 years. How's your screen holding up since April?

Monitor problem
The reason I had asked if you had tried a different monitor was to determine if it was the monitor or the computer that actually had the problem. That wasn't clear in the first question.
A computer that is having issues will cause the same symptoms you described.
Repairing CRT's is beyond my level of expertise. When I get into a situation like this, I would just replace the monitor. Sorry I couldn't have been more help.
I stopped using CRT's when the price of LCD's dropped.

Focus
Hi,
Most 17 inch monitors upward have two (2) focus adjustments. They are located at the back of the Flyback Transformer (FBT) together with the screen control. They tend to "drift" as you have posted after some time of usage. In the absence of calibrating instruments, you simply have to wing it when adjusting. It might be of help if you use a squarish mirror to view the front while adjusting the controls at the rear. Of course the usual precautions apply when working with live units especially within the high voltage area.
Should you not be comfortable opening the unit, adjusting while "live", you may need to seek the services of a qualified professional.
In some extreme case, no adjustment could and would correct a problem if the CRT has already developed some form of ion burn on its mask and therefore would require replacement. At times, you may need to consider the cost of repairs (parts & service) as well as the down time which may negate justification for repairs and therefore the prospect of a new monitor might be better off.
Hope that this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
Screen goes black with white horizontal line.
WHEN does this problem occur? Does it ONLY happen after the computer loads Windows (or another OS), or does it happen as soon as you turn the monitor on? We really need more information before we can provide specific advice or suggestions...
IF this happens as soon as you turn the monitor on, switch it with a different monitor. If the problem goes away, the original monitor is defective, and probably not worth the cost of repairing it.
If the problem ONLY happens after you load Windows, boot the system into Safe Mode (press the F8 key during bootup until you see the menu which allows you to select Safe Mode), then reboot and see if the problem has been resolved; simply booting into Safe Mode, then rebooting the system into Windows MIGHT solve this WITHOUT requiring you to change any system settings...
IF the problem remains in Windows AFTER you've booted into Safe Mode AND rebooted back to Windows, the videocard driver might be corrupted. In that case, you'll have to reinstall the vidcard driver to correct this problem...
If all else fails, it IS possible that the videocard itself is defective; if installing an updated driver doesn't work, try swapping the videocard with a different one. BE SURE to uninstall the OLD videodriver, and install the proper one for the new videocard; if you don't install the correct driver, you could create MORE problems than you have right now...
Mtusbubishi Diamond Pro 900u-I cant seem to adjust to screen in a perfect squre
the best way to adjust is first of all you reduce the height or make picture cinemascope.
now from select button agjust vertical & horizontal geomatry
now you increase the height as a whole.
I think this will solve your problem.
you can also refer owener manual if you have it.normally it comes with monitor.
good luck/
Mitsubishi monitor is distorting the picture
well first af all ,you never find this "loose wire" because it is a mith.
what you have is a "cold solder" in the vertical IC, if you have a solder iron , and the ability to open it (without scratching),
and then take off all the shields (without cutting your fingers), and get the solder area (without breaking the Tube).
at this time ,it take you 1 minute to solve...!!!
iF not... leave it to the repairman!!!.
