You need a little more leverage--either a strap type tool or a pair of adjustable width pliers that span the width of the cap. Try running hot water over the cap first which may loosen it enough to remove by hand.

if you use it for more than an hour theres an automatic kill switch located on the inside designed to make you buy another one , but you can take it apart and hardwire it to bypass that kill switch , and your steamer will work once again.

Dang everyone is looking to sell you stuff and not help. I'm having the same issue too. How did they tell you that you should have done that then? Everything I read says push down and turn.

I'm not sure it has one. Check the owner's manual though.
Try this. Turn off vacuum. Unplug it. Make sure there are no clogs in main hose, power head intake tube, or intake inside tank. Plug it in, turn it on, and let us know what happens.
