I have an Avanti 2101W-1 the compressor is not starting it just gets hot. How can I test the compressor to see if it is good?
If it gets hot and will not start, the first think to check is the capacitor. The capacitor creates a favorable phase shift on the incoming power and it pushes the motor to spin it at the start winding. Without the capacitor, you don't get that push you need and it does what we call in the field "single phasing". While the term single phasing is usually only used in 3 phase power, you can technically single phase a compressor with single phase power if the capacitor fails because you are losing your favorable phase shift causing in to not spin and overheat. I hope I didn't lose you on my explanation, but I want to try to explain it in a way that is understandable.
You'll have a rating on the capacitor that has a number followed by MFD of uf. This is your microfarid number. Your allowed +/- 6% of the rate capacitor number before is is deemed bad.
You'll need to find someone with a meter that reads microfarids to be able to test the capacitor.

The Wine Cooler Won't cool, the internal
Order a new control board if it is working after you unplug it it's because the control board is being reset. You can contact the manufacturer and purchase a control board directly from them .
Should we replace switch.
Many times the oils in the fan motors gum up and solidify after an extended shut down. Check that the fans are running. It's doubtful that in this case the switch is at fault.

After I defrosted my refrigerator
Unplug the refrigerator and wait at least five minutes before reconnecting the power. A temporary fault could be preventing the internal computer from operating the refrigerator correctly. Disconnecting the power forces the computer to reset itself when the power returns. Plugging your refrigerator back in before three minutes has elapsed could cause the refrigerator not to start.
hope this helps let us know.

My fridge is fairly new (about 2 yes old).
With no light, no fan, and no motor noise. It sounds like that the electric cord has a break in it. You have already checked the outlet. I would suggest that if you haven't done so already I would check to see if the light itself is burnt out, I know that would not stop it from running. But it will let you know that it is not getting any electric. Also I am not condemning the product, but those small Refrig's are built cheap because they do sell cheap. And might have a warranty for the first yr. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
