At this point I would pull the panel off on the back wall of the freezer compartment and take a look at the evaporator. That will tell if it is freezing up, not freezing enough. If you see it packed with ice, then the defroster heater, timer is not working.

But if you see that the evaporator in only half evidence of ice, then the compressor is not running at peak performance and that could be the mother board.

GE GSS25LGMA refrigirator/freezer refrigirator side is freezing

There is an electrically activated air dampener in the upper left back side of the refrigerator section which most likely has broken (in the open position), allowing cold air from the freezer to continue to enter the fresh foods section. Replace the dampener assembly.

I am about to intstall a Cold Kit (Heater 241532101) to my top freezer Kenmore refrigirator (Model 795 69292 902). Two questions: 1. Where do I locate the Control Box (inside the unit or on the back)? 2....

Good day,
The control box is located front top center in the fresh food compartment. It's the box that contains the main thermostat.
It must be dropped to install the heater, Just follow the instruction sheet for wiring.
P.S. It's only good down to 34 degrees. Any temperature below that, will cause it to degrade in performance.

Refrigirator side not cooling but freezer side is working, fan is working

if you open the freezer back wall you see that there is ice all over that prevent colld air go to the fridg.
use hair dryer to melt all the ice (turn unit off)
then you might need to replace the heat unit or the thermostat in the freezer to prevent it to build ice again.

Freezer is defrosting and refrigirator is not cooling

If the compressor and the fan work , probably the unit is laeking freon, but if the condenser fan doesn't work ,the compressor will go of on overload, also the problem could be with the compressor relay.

Freezer and Refrigirator not cooling

You didn't say if the compressor is running or not. If it is and all other things you stated are running then it has a sealed system problem. The sealed system comes with a 5 yr warranty in most cases (check owners manual). If the compressor is not running then listen for a click at the compressor. If you hear the click then I would replace the relay on the compressor. If you need further help I will need the complete model # off the sticker inside the fridge section.
