i think in these modles there are 2 lasers one for normal dvd's and 1 for blueray my stepbrothe plays blu-ray on ps3 all the time and his packed up but normal dvd worked so try checking that or using a disk cleaner (a special disk) and try cleaning the blu-ray disk
If all games are like this then you might have a faulty system if it's only a few or one then it might be the disk. If it's not the disk then I don't know
when putting disk in check by listening if you can hear the disk spinning at high speeds or a clickin noise, this means the laser is having trouble reading disk,try cleaning with a cd laser cleaner you can get these from comet argos pc world etc,if this does not work the laser may have burned out,one of the main faults with playstation and xbox is the fans that cool down the system also draw in dust through the vents wich inturn soil the laser lens hope this helps andy
Can you be any more specific? is this a problem with one disk, one type of disk or all disks? What is the exact error you are getting? Are you trying to play a game, play a film, play an audio CD or are you using your PS3 as a Linux computer and trying to open a data disk? have you tried more than one disk?
