If it's working out if unit but not in, blade may be out of position and getting hung on shroud.

Fridge side will not cool if fan in freezer doesn't work. Also freezer temps will be marginal.

IF the freexer is working fine then the evap thermistor is gone..

pretty cheap at around a tenner and easy to replace.. its located in the freezer section behind the panel near the top

remove all the freezer draws.. then remove the six screws to the back panel... remove the panel and its the yellow senor remove it and replace it exactly where it was plugged in and also attached to the evaporator.. the freezing section...

if both are not working then its the fan .....
at the back when the motor is

SOURCE: why has my fridge stopped working but my freezer still works its Hotpoint mistral plus

the freezer has not gone into defrost there is a time clock inside or the defrost heaters are not working the fan will not blow the cold air into the fridge because its blocked up with ice the best thing to do is remove the food from your freezer (ie) put into another freever if you can unplug your fridge/freezer leave it off for 12 hrs thi will defrost and reset then turn it back on this will come back to life put your food back and keep a eye on it you may have to do this again once in a while because there is so much ice build up the heaters cant cope it only defrosts once or twice a day in a 24 hr period for only 1 hr it might be 2 half hrs in 24 hrs depending on the time clock you have they did change to digital towards the end of the minstral line

I have a Hotpoint mistral plus 8596. I left the freezer door open by mistake and now the freezer has defrosted and the motor is noisy

Category moved from Computers to Hotpoint Refigerators. Larry doesn't like foreign stuff in his section. He has however given you the correct answer.

In 24 hours, it will have cooled, done a complete cycle including a Defrost. Your manual for extra points.

Hotpoint mistral plus

Sounds like a faulty thermostat, although fast freeze usually bypasses the stat so should then get to temperature. If the compressor and condenser are getting very hot and all is clean, check there isn't a condenser fan stuck underneath that is seized. If not, may have had a bit of a refrigerant leak and sucked a bit of air into the system. Call an engineer

Why has my fridge stopped working but my freezer still works its Hotpoint mistral plus

Possible that there is block on the air passage from the freezer fan which can be due to frost or failure of the fan.You need to check if there is free flow from the fan, also the setting of the fridge temperature.

Hotpoint Mistral Fridge Freezer, freezer working fine at -22 degrees, however, fridge has stopped working and is on +19 degrees. Had an E8 error message a few weeks ago which was quick fixed with a turn on...

Evaporator thermistor is on the radiator located at the back of the fridge. Older fridges had a big on aircooled along the entire back of the fridge whilst the newer ones have it under the fridge with a fan cooling it. 90% of the time the fan gives up causing this type of issue.

hi is this the frost free version ??? if it is which i think it is it could be a fault with temp module{frost free have electronic modules to control the system rather than a old fashioned bog standard thermostat inside the fridge} the fans should be controlled by the module in case of frost free models it could be the module which is playing up

My hotpoint mistral fridge/freezer is freezing very will, but ther fridge is not cooling. What could be wrong?

Hi. I had the same problem (funnily just as my warranty had run out) hotpoint wanted about £90 plus parts for a call out. You need to replace the Yellow thermistor in the freezer compartment (quite easy with a cross screwdriver and thin fingers). I got mine from Uk White Goods for about £20 they give advice too. Solved it instantly. Thanks HOTPOINT, wont be spending £600 with you again. Good Luck.

I have a mistral ff93s that has stopped cooling both the fridge and freezer. It has been making more noise than usual and this morning it smelled a bit of burning. I followed the trouble shooting guide,...

I fixed it! The fridge and freezer are both back to their normal running temperatures. The problem was dust/fluff clogging the motor fan at the bottom, which caused it to overheat and cut out. I had to modify my vacuum cleaner by putting a long thin tube into the flexible hose to be able to reach the fan, which is low to the ground and deep within the unit. The Hotpoint owners manual only mentions taking the cover grill off the front and hoovering as part of generally maintanance, but that doesn't get anywhere near where the dust and fluff accumulate. Once the fluff was removed the fan started working again. As the right front of the unit (behind the grill) is intake, it really needs some kind of filter to prevent this from happening again.

I have a Hotpoint Mistral frost free fridge freezer model FF72P (according to the sales invoice). The freezer is working fine but the fridge is not cooling. The fan that circulates the air is working...

It is possibly the fan hitting any overformed ice.
defrosting by shutting it off overnight would be the best to do first.
Or at least shut it off for a few hours.
