No maintenance (cleaning) option on my printing preferences
I bought some remanufactured ink cartridges for my HP Deskjet 6122. At first it only printed in black. There is no option to clean the printheads on the printing preferences or anywhere else. It appeared (out of the blue) for a short time and I tried the cleaning and I heard buzzing sounds like it was cleaning, then the middle yellow light on the printer started blinking and no paper ever came out, and none was stuck in the printer. I tried cleaning with Windex like I saw on some site but it hasn't done any good. It hardly prints in black and none in color. HELP!!! Irene at flabergasted...
I am having the same problem with brand new HP only cartridges, and this is my second Deskjet with the exact same issue. I notice a dollup of ink at the bottom of where the cartridges rest in both printers. I cleaned it in my old Deskjet only to have the problem continue. Thought this newer 6122 from Goodwill would work better, but it seems this is why the donors got rid of it in the first place. The HP DeskJet 6122 can print with both or only one ink cartridge installed. The printer driver includes an option to print in gray scale as a substitution for color. If you choose to print a document that has a color other than black and white with only a black cartridge installed, I recommend you select the gray scale print option. To select gray scale, select the printer properties and check the box for gray scale rather than color printing. This selection can be made either at the time a document is ready to print (ie., a one time selection, using the "Properties" box in the print options window), OR as a permenant setting using the Control Panel, Printers, HP DeskJet 6122, "Properties" window. Once changed in the general printer properties, these settings remain active anytime the HP DeskJet 6122 printer is selected to print a document.
Hi, A cleaning will fix the problem. To clean your Canon HP D1668 > open a document (from the computer) and select print from the menu, - In the print screen window select 'properties' Or 'Preferences'
- In the next window click 'maintenance'
- In the next window there will be many options to clean, align, nozzle check etc etc... Hope this help, thanks!
the most important is to remove all the air from the cartridge that has left inside durring refilling that is why professionals are using special machines that refill in 0 air πρεσυρε using vaccum pump
you can check here a video on how to refill with out any special equipment
This printer uses all 4 inks to make black by default. You have run out of magenta in the color cartridge. Go to printing preferencies, Color tab. Check Print in Grayscale and tick "Black only" to disable color use.
All HP ink cartridges are dated. If you are using the remanufactured ones the date is not changed and will not work properly at all. By HP ink only and you will never run into this again.
Unfortunately there is little you can do to troubleshoot hardware malfunctions like this you describe. Especially on inkjet printers. You would be better off getting a replacement printer.
Make sure you take the plastic guards off the cartridges, other than that there really isn't much more you can do.
