The microwave oven does not heat and makes a loud noise that seems to be coming from my right side as I face the oven. Is it worth fixing or is it time to get a new one?

Makes loud hum noise but does heat

That is a symptom that the magnetron circuit has failed. It the part that generates the microwaves that heat the food. Not worth fixing since the replacement part can cost as much as as a new oven. Sorry.

Everything appears to work. but the food does not heat up

The lack of heat would mean a failure in the magnetron circuit. It is the part that generates microwaves that heats the food. If it is making a loud buzzing noise when you operate the oven, it usually means that the magnetron has failed. It can cost as much as a new oven to repair, so it not worth fixing.

Microwave oven: GE Spacemaker 1400 not heating. Model number JVM1430AB001. Need guidance on troubleshooting and repair of unit. Thanks!

If the oven is making a loud buzzing noise when you try to warm food and the food remains cold, it usually means that the magnetron has failed. Not usually worth fixing since the parts alone can cause as much as a new oven.

Display works, turntable turns, but it won't heat.

If it making a loud humming or buzzing noise when it is turned on, it could mean that the magnetron has failed. If that is the case, then it typically not worth fixing, since the cost to repair is almost as much as a new oven.

Microwave comes on but not heat item

It's most likely the magnetron that has failed if it does not heat the food. The magnetron is the part the generates the microwaves. When it fails, it typically shorts out, and makes a loud hum or buzzing noise. If this is the case, it is not worth fixing since the cost of the magnetron is almost as much as getting a new oven. Sorry.

The unit is 3 years old and when I turn it on there is a loud hum. Theunit also does not heat but turns the turntable?

From your description it sounds like the magnetron has failed in this oven. That's the part the makes the microwaves to heat the food. It typically fails by shorting out and making a loud hum noise. It not usually worth fixing since the price of a replacement magnetron is almost as much as a new oven.

Danby microwave does not heat food and makes loud constant noise

IF the noise is a sound coming from the oven area, its the megatron tube. Typically, replacing the megatron tube is more expensive than replacing wiht a new unit and a new warranty.
