When was the last time the projection lamp was replaced?The projection lamp on the tv now,has not been replaced like a 1 1/2 or 2 years,tv been on and watches like 4 or 5 hours a day?The tv projection lamp life are over.Require a new projection lamp.
The buzzing sound you most likely hear is the ballast trying to fire up the lamp. I would say replace the lamp and yes they can act up at will. If this is the first lamp replacement ever then you are doing good.
