Hair Curler Model # VS187 being used by my wife this morning when the power cord exploded at the point where it enters the appliance. The explosion sent molten metal flying across the room barely missing my wife's cheek. This product was purchased approximately six months ago but we do not have the receipt. Please advise.

Contact the place you bought the curler and let them know what happened. If you have a manual, contact the Vidal Sasoon and tell them. If you don't have the manual, look them up on the internet and contact them.

Why is my eureka super broom not turning on?

When machine does not work, first check wall outlet ( plug in an hair dryer or table lamp to check wall outlet. ) and it that is OK than check your power cord for break ( if wire's are broken inside outer coating the cord will be very weak at that point )

When i plug in my oreck steam it mop, it keeps blowing the fuse

Make sure no other appliance is running at the same time. Some other appliance on the same house line is causing the fuse to overload. Example: If we have the space heater on in the bedroom and my wife tries to use her hair dryer then the fuse blows as they are both on the same circuit.

Where is the ceramic fuse located in an emrson microwave/model # mw8991sb?

Its usually mounted at the point where the power cord enters the back of the unit. You will need to UNPLUG the microwave oven and remove the exterior case to access.

The compatible model for mw8991sb is the MW8901XS0 model.

Here is the link for the exploded diagram of the parts where you can find the location of the fuse.

I have a Euro Pro Compact Performer model # EP 171 which I love. It is the best iron I have found for my quilting class. When I went to use it, I found my cats had chewed the cord to the point that it is...

HI. All appliances has warranty on it. Default would be 1 year warranty. If your device is within the one year warranty. you can have it repaired by your manufacturer withut a charge. If device is alraedy out of warranty. you can still have it repaired but you will cover for the damaged part that need to be replaced or repaired in your device. Check the store where you purchased the unit. Maybe they can do something about it.

I was using kirby g5 and I think I stepped on cord and lost power on vacuum. Now it won't start. Could this be a damaged cord..or what?

either that, or it was pulled so hard, it came disconnected from the vac switch. stepping on a cord rarely affects power. so, check vac switch and outlet to make sure the outlet has power.

(if you know an electrician or if you feel comfortable disassembling the vac i would look at the point that the cord enters the vac and trace it to the switch looking for obvious breaks)

Hi-My power head won't work anymore. How do I know if it is the switch or the wireing or how to fix it.

Can you take a test reading with a meter from the vac socket or the hose handle. If you have power there test the cord for continuity before the motor. Disconnect the wiring from the switch and bypass directly to the motor.
TIP Most power head cords fail at the stress point where they enter the head, but inspect your cord connections at the vac and hose as well. Please post make and model

Open power cord housing on kenmore 116 vac

You can go to the Sears Parts Direct website and type in your Model number. It will return both an exploded view and parts list, with pricing for replacement parts. You can also order from them, and they can tell you stock status as well.

Kenmore canister vacuum #116 5521290

im not familiar with kenwood vacs (i'm in uk not us) but usual cause of this type of fault is a fracture in the power cord where it enters the appliance or at the cable clamp. cut 6ins of the power cord and remake the connection
