You need to connect the radio antennae properly using the coaxial or the ribbon wire to the antenae so to get the best FM reception.
If this is not connected do so from the rear of the tuner/amplifier.

Run DVD through tuner

ok a bit confused, Tuner ? like amplifier or Tv Tuner ? regardless seems like a easy fix .

First your cable box as 3 cables:1st . Power cable to outlet
2nd. From the wall ( usually a Coaxial cable coming from outside box ) into cable box.3rd. HDMI or Second coaxial cable ( One of these usually goes to the back or side of your Tv depending where inputs are located.)
Now Dvd has 2 cables 1st to Power2nd. To TV ( Hdmi or Coaxial )
On the back of your Tv will have 2-3 HDMI inputs . Assign 1HDMI jack to each media your trying to use.In this case TV HDMI 1, HDMI 2 DVD.
Assigning HDMI's will now reflect on your TV menu selection. Choosing HDMi 1 or HDMI2 from Tv menu will allow you use or view desired Media option in this case DVD or TV.
Now if there is Amplifier / Tuner involved like to connect surround sound to, connection may be a bit trickier however same principal.Plug all media into HDMI 1, HDMI 2, respectively, this time to the back of the tuner NOT to back of TV.Once you have done that You will need a third HDMI cable now from the back of the Tuner ( output Jack, usually has lighter color markings indicating Output HDMI) to your HDMI 1 jack in the back of your TV. Now you have bridge TV/ Cable , DVD into Receiver / Tuner and Selecting media will now be done not through TV Menu as before but through Tuner / Receiver menu or selection.
Good luck .

Good Luck

Sony KV- 20FV12 get no signal on screen. Same cable outlet works on other TV as a test. Cable ON in menu. Auto Set search produces search but still no signal.

Hello

If auto search is going on smoothly, and there is no stations on air is memorized, and display no signal, there are tow possibilities. The first one is antenna is not connected properly. Check the antenna connection for firm. The second one is tuner fault. If the tuner inside the tV is faulty, or it does not gets proper voltage to work, this type of fault land display will see on screen. Check if proper voltages are comming to the tuner section in circuit board. If voltages are ok, and still there is no signal display, just check it with external video input. That is, connect it to any dvd or cd with AV connector, and set the TV to AV mode and play a disc. If there is picture, the video side of your TV is OK. If not, Video-chroma-RF jungle IC is faulty, and not the tuner. OK.

I have a Grundig TV P37-080GB or G.CG61-02GBM bought in UK. Using Auto Tuning I can find local TV channels but the audio to each of these channels does not work. I get a hissing sound as gets when not...

Hi.

If you are using the TV in UK, and you are using the internal digital tuner (aerial cable to TV), then the TV may be defective (faulty tuner or audio circuit). In that case call Grundig at the number listed on manual.
If TV is using an external digi box (eg. freeview), then check connection from box to TV, test using a different connection cable. Test using a DVD, if TV works on DVD replace the digi box.

If you are trying to use the TV outside UK, and you are using the internal digital tuner, then there may be a problem with signal. In that case purchase a tuner box and connect it to the TV.

My tv got no sound..but if connect a video/dvd via rca ok.

Sounds like you have a tuner or an antenna problem. If you are using a DVT converter box to watch off the air TV, the signal has to be very good to get sound and picture. Try connecting a VCR or a DVD player trough the coax cable and see if it you get sound an pic on Channel 3 or 4. If you do, it is an antenna problem.

Cant hook dvd/vcr to my cable box the manual says I need a extern

The cable box IS an external tuner.  You should connect the video output (either S video, HDMI, or component video) of the cable box to the video input of the DVD.  Then connect the audio output of the cable box to the audio input of the DVD via stereo RCA cables.  If your tv monitor has multiple inputs (ie: video 1, 2, and 3...) connect the video and audio output of the DVD to your tv monitor using an alternate video input (if cable box goes into your tv thru video 1, connect the DVD to video 2).  If your cable box only has one output, or your tv has only one input, then just connect your cable box to the DVD as above, and connect the DVD to your tv.

No picture or sound - think the tuner is bad

You may either have a bad tuner in your TV (not unusual for Sony's) or a broken connection near the tuner on the flimsy circuit boards they're using on this model. The tuner requires about 30 volts DC to work, and this may not be reaching the tuner due to a crack in the board connection. You probably have several A/V inputs that can be used for cable video and DVD video and your owners manual should explain how to connect them clearly. The outputs of those units go into the inputs of the TV set. It's That Simple!
