Is there a time limit setting on the router

I would check ALL cables, connections, reseat all connections. Have your ISP verify the signal from the outside. Have a ISP tech come out to analyze the connections and signal.

Hey, I'm a student renting a room in a house of about 5 rented rooms and the landlord upstairs. We have wireless internet from a: Thomson Gateway Product Name: TG585 v7 Software Release:...

The problem has more to do with your Internet Service Provider than your router. The more users online within your neighborhood the less bandwidth or signal strength you'll receive. For instance around noon each day is one of the busy times for Internet use everywhere. It also, depends and what's occurring amongst the users within the house. Downloading, streaming music or videos is very taxing to bandwidth especially if five users are trying to stream video at the same time. Perhaps you may need to increase your service speed. So if you have 3M service you may wish to move up to 5M,10M or 15M service.

I have the WBR1310 D-Link wireless router. I

I would try one or both of the following:

1. Update any drivers or software for the D-Link router.
2. Update the firmware of the router (see page 38 of the user manual for instructions to do this). -- you can download the manual at http://www.dlink.com/products/?tab=3&pid=WBR-1310&rev=WBR-1310 if you dont have it.

Hope this helps.

Computer cabled to Dynex enhanced G wireless will not connect

Unplug the router for ten seconds and plug it back in, it needs to reset. Some routers have a reset button. I often wait longer than ten seconds, I find a beer is usually the right amount of time. Sometimes the modem needs a reset also; unplug everything, then plug back in sequence, with the modem first, the wait, then the router, wait, then turn on your computer. That system works for any brand modem and router.

Loss of internet connection

Please google "network magic" from cisco. Get it ... free for a limited time then they want $ or ... keep using the limited version for free.

I use the paid pro version to manage my network and I love it.

The program is easy to use and will perform all the functions you will need to stay on the WWW. Did I mention it is SIMPLE to use yet it is complete and comprehensive. It will help with wireless security too, if that is an issue.
