Froozen and wont do ANYTHING

  1. Toggle the Hold switch. To do this, slide the switch to Hold (an orange bar appears) and then slide it back (orange bar is hidden).
  2. Reset the iPod by holding down the Menu and Center buttons for 10 seconds.
    • If the Apple logo appears on the display, connect the iPod to a computer and verify that it appears in iTunes and can play music. If the iPod appears in iTunes and can play music, no further troubleshooting is needed.
    • If the Apple logo does not appear or the iPod is not seen in iTunes, connect the iPod to a power source by either plugging it into an Apple iPod USB Power Adapter or directly into a computer's USB port.
  3. Let the iPod charge for at least 20 minutes. Note: If the iPod is connected to a computer, make sure the computer does not sleep, standby, or hibernate during the 20-minute charging period.
  4. After the iPod has charged for at least 20 minutes and while it is still connected to the power source, toggle the Hold switch again as in step 1.
  5. Try resetting the iPod by holding down the Menu and Center buttons for 10 seconds.
    • If the Apple logo appears on the display, connect the iPod to a computer and verify that it appears in iTunes and can play music. If the iPod appears in iTunes and can play music, no further troubleshooting is needed.
    • If the Apple logo does not appear or the iPod is not seen in iTunes, try putting the iPod into disk mode and restoring.
  6. Try putting the iPod into disk mode.
    • While in disk mode, connect the iPod to iTunes and try to restore.
    • If the iPod is still not recognized by iTunes, the iPod should be serviced.
    • utting iPods with a Click Wheel into disk mode
      1. Before placing the iPod into disk mode, you should verify that it is charged.
      2. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Set it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
      3. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for at least 6 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
      4. When the Apple logo appears, release the Menu and Select buttons and immediately press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until the Disk Mode screen appears.ht1363_2.jpg
      5. Connect the iPod to your computer; the screen on the iPod will change and say "Do not disconnect"
If you are having difficulty putting the iPod model into disk mode, set it on a flat surface. Make sure that the finger pressing the Select button is not touching the Click Wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Play/Pause button toward the outside of the Click Wheel and not near the center.
If you are still unable to put your iPod with a Click Wheel into Disk Mode, use one finger from one hand to press the Select button, and one finger from the other hand to press the Play/Pause button.

Wont turn all the way on. just freezes at the logo

Have you attempted to reset the ipod yet?

Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to
Hold, then turn it off again.) Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select)
buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo
appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to
repeat this step. Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your
iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the
finger pressing the Select button is not touching
any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that
you are pressing the Menu button toward the
outside of the click wheel, and not near the
center.
If the above steps did not work, try connecting
iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter
into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your
computer.

I have a 4gb ipod blue screen hour glass...nothing else.

Have you actually been holding down all buttons? If so you will want to reset the ipod. Just in case you are unsure as to how to reset the ipod I have posted a step by step below. Hope it helps you :)

My mini ipod freezing, showing charger sign i could not turn it to menu

I would attempt putting the ipod into disc mode and see if your ipod is recognized by the computer after you reconnect it. I have researched this issue and found a knowledge base article on apples web site that may help you out with this.
Here are the steps to do it...

Putting iPods with a Click Wheel into disk mode

If it won't go into disc mode while not connected to your computer, try doing the above steps with it already connected to you computer.
If none of these steps work, it is sadly probably time to get a new ipod. I hope that it does help you out though. Good luck :)

Turning off IPOD 1059

If your iPod is frozen or won't turn on, it may be because iPod is paused or the Hold switch is in the locked position. If so, a lock symbol appears on the screen. Slide the Hold switch to the unlocked position and check the screen.
  1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.
If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.
To reset iPod, iPod (scroll wheel), iPod (touch wheel), and iPod (dock connector) ipodg1-2.gif ipodg3.gif
  1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  2. Press and hold the Play/Pause and Menu buttons simultaneously until the Apple/iPod logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.
If you are still unable to reset your iPod, use only one finger from one hand to press the Center (Select) button, and one finger from the other hand to press the Menu button.
When you reset iPod all your music and files are saved, but some customized settings may be lost. Date and time are preserved (unless the iPod reset itself because it had no power and then was reconnected to power). Other customized settings, such as Bookmarks, On-The-Go Playlists, Shuffle, Backlight timer, and so forth are preserved from the last time the hard drive turned on.

Ipod nano 8GB 3rd generation FROZEN!

First make sure your hold switch isn't on. It's on the top or bottom and slides back and forth. It needs to be switched to the left. Once it is to the left, here's how you reset:

You can reset your ipod by holding down the menu and select (round button in the center) buttons down for at least 10 seconds. You'll see an apple logo flash, that's when you stop pressing the buttons. It will shut off, then back on.

This ipod wont star or do anything

Have you tried to do a reset? Toggle the hold button on and then off. Then hold down the menu button and the center button at the same time. hold them until the screen flashes. then release. You may have to try this several times.
