Intermatic Malibu 300W Power Pack Transformer ML300RTW Logo
Posted on Feb 11, 2011

I have a ML300RTW and I do not hear any noise from the unit or ticking from the timer. When I advanced the timer to check if it would send power to the lights, they come on and when advanced to turn off time they shut off. So, it still sending power, but thetimer does not work. Is there a repair item for this and who does one obtain one and how to install? Thank you, Ron Ragno

Power packs do not have repair parts anywhere on the internet that I know.
Occasionally folks take power pack apart, but nobody reports being able to repair transformer or timer.

Once power pack goes bad, then it needs to be replaced.

Good news for your specific problem however:
'Harry' wrote to fixya with some information.
His timer stopped working so he bought cheap plug-in timer, set power pack to override, and then plugged power pack into cheap timer. Cheap timer turns lights on-off.
Harry also said his power pack has 5 year warranty and he was negotiating with Malibulights.com. No word how that came out.

Best I found are tips for next power pack that might save money:
The reason I add tips now, before your power pack needs replacement is some fella wrote fixya.
He bought 500 Watt power pack to replace 300 Watt > thinking bigger was better.
Power pack burned out. Here's why:
a) Match wattage of bulbs with wattage of power pack
Lets say you have fifteen 20 watt bulbs = 300 watts, so install 300Watt power pack
b) Installing a 500W power pack on 300W of bulbs will burn out bulbs and power pack.
c) Replace bulbs as soon as they burn out or other bulbs will burn out and power pack will burn out.
d) When working on bulbs, unplug power pack or power pack may burn out.

How to fix dial on sde4606ayw not spinning but the dryer gets hot.

If the dial on your Maytag SDE4606AYW dryer is not spinning but the dryer is getting hot, it may be due to a faulty timer. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially fix the issue:
  1. Check the timer motor: The ticking noise you hear could be the timer motor trying to advance the timer. You can test the timer motor using a multimeter. If the motor is faulty, it will need to be replaced.
  2. Inspect the timer knob: If the timer knob is loose or cracked, it may not be engaging properly with the timer shaft. Check the knob for any damage or wear and replace if necessary.
  3. Check the timer shaft: If the timer shaft is damaged or worn, it may not be able to turn the timer. Inspect the shaft for any damage and replace if necessary.
  4. Test the cycling thermostat: The cycling thermostat is responsible for regulating the temperature in the dryer. If it is faulty, it may not allow the timer to advance. Test the thermostat using a multimeter and replace if necessary.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be best to consult a professional repair technician for further assistance.

I have a Malibu 300 watt ML300rtw, timer goes until it reaches "on" pin then stops. if i manually turn timer, i hear click and lights go on - they turn off no problem. pins are not broken. what next?

Sounds like the mechanical timer assembly likely has never been lubricated, You may use a lightweight oil, such as WD-40, to lubricate the timer mechanism.

I have the ML300RTW can I use 16 guage wire with this unit ? I will be having [4] four lights . Thank You

16 gauge wire is fine.
Check if wire gets hot.
Make sure bulb wattage matches 300Watt output of transformer.
If you have less than 300Watts, then bulbs will burn out faster and transformer will burn out.
Replace bulbs as soon as they burn out.

My 5 year old GE profile refigrator stopped working today. it has been making a ticking noise and the unit won't come back on. I unplugged and replugged and nothing happened. theres no tempeture lights on....

This problem sound to me like the timer is stuck on defrost. That is the only control on the refrigertor that makes a ticking noise. Try to manually advance it.

Where is the manual ON/OFF switch on the ML300RTW

It is located next to the mechanical timer wheel. It's not so much a switch as is it a small black stem that you have to turn (clockwise) to turn the timer ON or OFF without advancing the timing wheel.

Hope this helps and you find it Very Helpful - best regards!

How do you set the timer on Malibu 300 watt transformer, ML300RTW. I have the pins in the right spots, but the timer doesn't go around. I there a on/off switch to activate the unit?

Make sure there is power to the plug. Then set the clock and install the on and off pins to control the lights. The on/off switch is for manually turning on the lights. The clock should run as soon as it's plugged in.

Bosch dishwasher timer freezing

There is a recall on the control board of many of these models, butyour problem is likely not related. It sounds like a plugged drain system or a possible bad drain pump. That's why you are hearing the pump running constantly. I have written a guide to help. It is here. Thanks!
