Maytag dryer will not turn on.i cleaned under it yesterday. is there a reset button?

It's possible that the inside of the button has gotten some soap or "gunk" which is showing the button as being held on. Try and clean out around and behind the button, even a small squirt of WD 30 may loosen anything behind the button. Make sure the power is off before doing anything.

try and unplug the dryer from the wall ro reset.

Hi,
When the dryer wont heat it is the thermal fuse that is bad, you can test it with a voltmeter before replacing. This fuse is located inside the rear panel and it cannot be reset.

Your heat strip has burned out, shorted against the frame, and kicked the breaker. Take off the back, it is not hard to replace. Be sure all breakers are turned off.

Hopefully, the moisture in the air didn't affect the timer. You may want to put some WD 40 on it. I would check all the wiring first. I assume you reset the breakers, checked the receptacle, especially if it is near the floor. Look under the top and near the drum and check the thermal overload.

fail once - wear,
fail twice - you must clean the lint out of the fan, and exhaust duct before the house burns down.

conduct good,
open circuit fail and replace.
the local parts guy has them, there are only a few that fit multiple models it does not matter what brand is on the packet
