Since we both cannot read Japanese, it may be necessary to simply go to what looks like the menu options and mess with it until it changes language. As long as you are in menu options, you will find the language option listed. Just fiddle with it as much as you can under settings. Once it is in english you may revery changes effortlessly :) please let me know if this helps, I only get paid if you let me know I fixed the problem!
You might be able to flash over the ZS3 to TZ7, but that would be an expensive gamble.Nor would I trust anyone other than Panasonic to tell me what I could or couldn't do as far as this question is concerned - unless I was interested in taking the risk.
The TZ7 limits the length of the video that can be recorded to something on the order of 3 or 4 minutes - whereas the ZS3 is limited only by the size of the SDHC card. I believe it had to due with the tax collect for a "video camera" as opposed to the still camera that can record "clips" instead of movies. Tha, and of course the NTSC / PAL differences and who knows whatelese that isn't mentioned (but I suspect very little else actually).
It can be changed in the "setup" menu. You probably will have to scroll through the sub-menus to find the word "english". Click on it and the "set" button.
Version 1.1 is installed on the camera out of the box. Even if you could get a copy, it wouldn't overwrite or delete version 1.2. Buy the correct battery...it will save you the cost of repairs later.
