On my kenmore dryer 970-c82062-00 I can get all 3 timers to start but the heated automatic dry portion does not time out.

that model number doesn't come up,you sure that isn't the serial number?also does the dryer have heat, when you run it on time dry the timer just counts down like a clock, when on auto or more or less the heat comes on until the dryer heats to temp. the heat shuts off and the timer will advance, when the heat comes back on the timer stops moving,it will do this until the clothes are dry,if you do have heat you could have a bad sensor or a bad cycling thermostat but you'll have to check it with a meter.send the model number and i can help you better.

I have a Kenmore 70 top load dryer that is not heating. And the timer doesnt turn off anymore either. Both items seem to have malfunction at the same time. Help?

This is typical. If the heating element is no longer working, the unit doesnt know to turn off due to the clothes still being wet. However, the timer has absolutely nothing to do with the heating of the unit. If the timer doesnt turn off the unit even when the time is short (example: 10 minute timed dry), the timer has a different issue. If you have merely set the dryer to dry the clothes (not a "timed cycle" to dry) then the dryer will continue to run as I have stated before. The dryer will run until the clothes are dry. Now, its time to address the heating part. Your dryer heating element has gone bad. It can be replaced if you are somewhat handy. You can pick one up from your local appliance store and it has simple instructions. Please make sure that you disconnect the unit from its power source prior to attempting any repairs. Safety First. You can also call someone to replace it for you and it shouldnt be too costly. Good luck on either option.

The timer does not work correctly. The timer does not move and the dryer runs forever.

If the timer doesnt even advance in the time dry cycle then you have a bad timer. However you will need to make sure that your getting heat throughout the auto dry cycle because no heat will cause the dryer to run forever. Hope this helps _MJ_

Aouto dry timer doesnt shut off system when clothes dry

It could be as simple as cleaning the sensors with rubbing alcohol. Build up from dryer sheets will cause erratic operation. It could also be a bad gear or dirt in the timer. Eric

Heater goes on and off.

Hi. your timer/control is damaged. a damaged timer/control mechanism will cause the element to cycle erratically if the timer is malfunctioning.Simply replace the timer to fix this issue.

Focus Issues! Help!

I found the answer on another thread in this site. You just need to lightly bang the camera with your hand and it gets back in focus. Pathetic and archaic, but effective. I used the two finger method like I was hitting a cigarette pack.

Dryer doesnt dry clothes

If your kenmore electric dryer is not heating anymore, the problem can be with the element, with the thermal fuse, or rarely with the control timer , see below from repairclinic: What is wrong with your Dryer?

On auto dry settings, the timer doesn't get voltage until the regulating thermostat is satisfied. A clogged vent will cause this problem, as the dryer is cycling the heat on the hi limit thermostat. disconnect from vent and see if the problem goes away. Also, remember that a voltmeter doesn't lie.
