Hi, Your battery needs to be calibrated, what you will need to do is charge the battery fully or until it can not charge more, drain the battery completely then recharge to full, doing so while letting your computer recognise and mark the full point and the empty point... the process depends on the version of windows you have and also if you have a bundled tool or a program that does this for you, search your laptop installed programs or check in your power options. vista is the only operating system I am aware of that does not have a built in tool, others should have it, just follow the tool instructions and you should be all set, if you can not find the tool or have vista let me know... Best of Luck

i have windows 7 premium 64 bit , where can i look for tools ?

  • Anonymous Jan 31, 2011

Ok, when you start the laptop go into the bios and see if there is any power options (you may also find battery calibration tool there too but if not...) turn any power managemnet option off, restart the laptop and wait until it fully loads. go into the control panal and select power, also turn any power management option off or disable hibernation at the critical battery... now wait until the battery is fully charged or can not take more then unplug the ac power, you may continue working on the computer or just let it drain the battery until it shuts off by itself, make sure you save your work because if it shuts off any unsaved data will be deleted, try turning the computer on, it should shuts down again after few seconds. now plug the ac in and let the laptop charge overnight or at least 10 hours, then turn it on and notice the charge %... then unplug the power and let it drain from the battery again until it shuts off... repeating this 2-3 times should do the trick... Good Luck.

Acer laptop 5551 wont charge

The solution to your problem lies in one of the following three areas:

1.) Your charger is faulty and is therefore not able to pass power to your laptops battery.

2.) The charging connector on the laptop has come loose from the contacts. Therefore a bad connection.

3.) Your battery is faulty.

I think possibility 2 is the most likely, although you will have to test possibility 3 by removing the battery and plugging in your charger and seeing if the laptop powers on.If it does power on then that rules out possibility 1 and 2 leaving a faulty battery.

Acer aspire 5332 plugged in but not charging

it sounds like one of three things:

1. Battery itself no longer functions
2. Laptop Charger has inadequate amperage
3. The motherboard is defective (most likely).

If you have another battery, or a friend with the same battery, you can try that first (and someone else's laptop charger).

Take the battery out. Unplug the charger from the computer. Press the On button for 30 seconds. Then plug the charger in. If it works, then put the battery back in and you're in business again. If it doesn't work, the most likely cause is the laptop charger. Use a new one to confirm:

Ive just noticed my 7month old Acer Aspire 5551 laptop charges for about 10-15 seconds then it stops charging.... Ive shut it down removed the battery then put it back in and rebooted the p.c and it still...

Try and push your charging cable - if it charges while keep holding it and stops charges when you leave it then it means your charging cable is faulty. Get it repaired or replaced.

Battery will not charge even though it is connected, laptop says it isnt

Either your battery is damage that is not accepting charging or the power cable is damage that it don't charge.
