Before you perform System Recovery you > Must disable Boot Booster.
1) Laptop off, press the Power On button, then start tapping repeatedly on the F2 key to show the POST screen.
(Tap slowly in 2 second intervals)
2) Press F2 again to enter BIOS Setup.
(If pressing doesn't do it, start tapping on the F2 key in 2 second intervals)
When you see the BIOS Setup Utility it will look like a chart, with a bold header going across the top.
You can No longer use your mouse.
To navigate around in the BIOS Setup Utility you have to use your keyboard.
In the bold header across the top of the BIOS Setup Utility you will see listed in order;
Main, Advanced, Security, Boot and Exit.
3) Use the Right Side Arrow key to highlight Boot.
{Not trying to be condescending. The Up, Down, Right, and Left Arrow keys, are to the left of the number pad.
Also below the Delete, End, and Page Down keys}
Once Boot is highlighted press the Enter key.
4) When in the Boot menu;
If Boot Booster is not highlighted, press the Down Arrow key to highlight it.
Now press the Enter key.
Enabled
Disabled
will be shown. Use the appropriate arrow key to highlight Disabled.
5) Press the F10 key. (Saves changes and reboots {Restarts} your computer)
Now to restore;
A) Restart your computer. (WinXP: Start > Turn Off Computer > Restart)
B) Start tapping in 2 second intervals on the F9 key.
C) Left-click on the check mark button to start System Recovery.
D) Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the recovery process.
ONCE DONE, and Windows is running again. Let Windows run for a few minutes.
Then shut Windows down normally.
Go through steps 1 through 5 above, but this time choose Enabled.
You need to turn Boot Booster back on once you've restored Windows, or your computer will be like molasses in the winter in booting up.
Asus moved the User Manual for the Eee PC 1005HA to their FTP site.

This is a Zip file.
After you unzip it you will have a PDF file.
After you click on the above file name a small window will come up.
Click on Save File.
Observe, and write down, what you see in the top of the next small window that comes up.
In the top of that window is where this file will download to.
It may have Desktop, or My Documents, or Downloads in the wording.
If it has Desktop in the wording, the file will go to your desktop screen.
If it has My Documents in the wording, the file will go to your My Documents folder.
{Start > My Documents}
If it has Downloads in the wording, the file will go to your Downloads folder.
(Start > My Documents > Double-click on Downloads}
When you see the file name double-click right on it.
Now click on Unzip in the list.
In the next window go to the upper left, and click on > Extract All Files.
Now click on Next, Next, and Finish at the bottom of the window.
In the last window that comes up, the file name will be next to a red PDF icon.
Double-click on it.
There is your User Manual.
