Neovo F-417 17" LCD Monitor Logo
Posted on Jul 10, 2008

Occasional Distortion Have had the F-417 for more than two years. Recently it has started to produce a corrupt screen with flashing streaks in different colours. The remedy (Not a professional IT solution) is to bang it hard with my hand on the top and the sides and this clears it until the next occasion. I have checked to ensure that there is not a fault with the cables. Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem with my Neovo F-419 monitor. I'd hate to have to get rid of it. It's about 3 years old.

I have the same problem with my 3.5 yr F-417, I'd like to be sure it's the monitor and not the graphics card

For some time we used to sell these monitors in our store. Some of these same models do have a defect which can cause some of the problems you all are having. Neovo does come with a good warranty, at leasted they did when we sold them at the store lasting at least 3 years. We had a monitor that had random blue stripes which Neovo replaced. One thing you may want to try before throwing in the towel on your monitors is reloading the device drivers on the montor. These monitors came with a CD. If you cannot find it you can get the drivers from here http://driverscollection.com/?H=F-419&By=AG%20Neovo . If you think you are still under warranty, give Neovo a call they will may just replace your monitor with a new one. Good luck....

Distortion in speakers pertaining to video streaming websites (Youtube, dailymotion, veoh etc)

Hi, Sound like your talking about the monitors speakers only! These are never very good to get proper sounds you need extra speakers or separate speakers & not use the monitor speakers at all they are never good quality. Please leave me feedback, best wishes, Malcolm Campbell.

I have distortion of playing tapes.

Degraded tape, dirty heads (clean with acetone and Q tip but don't get on plastic), dry coupling capacitors. This assumes that the distortion that you refer to is dirty or fuzzy sounding audio.
If a new tape, recorded and played back, sounds ok then your electronics are in good shape. That means your tapes are junk. If cleaning heads takes care of it, well that's pretty obvious. If your capacitors are dried out you will need to bring it in to a repair shop.

Gray cloudy spot in center of photos;distorted light streaks

Time for another. Sell yours to a repairman in an ebay auction, keeping your accessories, and buy a working used on without accessories cheap.

Or this may be a good time to either buy another TZ3 refurb w/warranty(90 days I think) or a new one one Ebay. They are very reasonable since being replaced with the newer TZ5.

Blue streaks across picture

Can you describe in a little more detail what the symptoms are? Are the streaks thin lines or are they large thick swashes of Blue? Is yur video still visible? Sounds like it may be the blue convergence amps or the resistor tied into the amps. is there anyway you can post a picture of your screen distortion?

I have a 6 year old Samsung PCJ522R 52" TV.

It sounds like at least one of 3 "IHVT",s popped. in short, a "IHVT" is a high voltage transformer. It will have to be replaced along with any other parts that were damaged in the process.
They do produce a strong odor when they pop!!

It is repairable but at a price. there is a good chance that parts will have to be ordered.

you might consider buying a new LCD HDTV instead of fixing this one.

Black horizontal lines across bottom 1/3 of screen

This is due to vertical section failure. Change the vertical supply rectifier diode and supply filters. Then check zener diode leakage in pumpup circuit section. Also check any electrolytic capacitors leakage in vertical section. If it is old model tv change vertical height, vertical lenearity presets also. I hope given details useful to you.
