Be sure that your printer is compatible with the operating system that you have on your PC. If it is an older printer, with a newer Operating System, such as Windows 7, it may not be compatible. Surwe. just download and install the vista driver from the HP website for your model.

hp has alot of problems with their deskjets, I know I have one. Anyway go to their website and download the software and drivers for vista, but first make surre nay other printers are uninstalled and their software is uninstalled also.

Unistall any pevious printer software. Try to use windows drivers. If not, search only the suitable driver for printer (you can use 2240) but the driver only, not the entire hp suite.

I'll assume this printer has never been hook up to a Vista machine. Check the manufacturer's web site for new Vista drivers for your model of printer. Download and install. Good luck!
