Hello
Put your hand on the back of your TV to check for overheating, if your set keeps switching itself off without warning.
Many TV sets come equipped with a safety feature that switches the power off if the set gets too warm.
Check the cooling vents located at the rear of your unit. Vents can collect dust and dirt, resulting in the fans becoming blocked and failing to work properly.
Remove dirt from the vents with a damp, clean cloth. Ensure the air conditioning is kept at adequate levels in the room where your TV is located. Keep the drapes shut on hot, sunny days to keep the room cooler.
Check the sleep-timer function on your TV if it keeps turning off. A sleep-timer is used to turn a television set off after a certain period of time has elapsed. If the sleep-timer is not turned off, your television will continue to turn itself off after a certain period of time.
If the problem persists, then a heat sink has gone bad.
The on/off button simply toggles a low voltage circuit that powers your tv. If it is dusty, it may complete the electrical circuit and send a false signal.
Take a can of compressed air, open the back and clean the dust off the circuit boards.
