I have a EnterTec Karaoke microphone that doesn't work when singing into. When I power on the microphone the video and sound comes onto the t.v. screen as usual but the main mic and sub mic is dead, no sound can be produced when singing. I've tried resetting the unit by pressing the power and 0 button as directed, I have changeed the batteries and raised the volume to (15) on both microphones with no sound coming out from either mic.

How do I check for a loosened voice coil? How do I replace a faulty voice coil? Can I replace
the voice coil myself? How much would I expect to pay for a voice coil?

I've decided to send the microphone back to the dealer for repair and let their technicians handle the problem.

Make sure the microphone is turned on and the batteries are brand new. Next, make sure the microphone is plugged in securely and turn the mute switch off on the microphone. If it is still not working then click on the link below and send it in for a free replacement:

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

The voice coil is faulty for sure. When you turn the top of the mic you'll have access to the voice coil. Two things can cause this... the voice coil wire is loosen or the voice coil itself is worn out. You will need to replace the coil if ever the wire is secured.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Magic Sing ET-18k output delay

The delay is introduced by your high end HDTV. To alleviate this problem, connect the music part carried by the red and white wires a separate analog sound system.

Karaoke not working

Hi, got this info from philips customer service. Was desperately trying to get the karaoke function to work for 2 weeks! Plug in your microphone. Press "KARAOKE" button until you see "MIC OFF" text, and immediately press RIGHT button. It will now shows "MIC ON"! "ECHO", "KEY" options will now shows up when pressing "KARAOKE" button repeatedly. However, microphone sound will not be available on digital output, you'll have to use the audio RCA. Happy singing!

2-second delay with Magic Sing

i bought et18k. just the same as yours.its 2 days old and has the same problem. the technical assistant says that its because of the digital setting that new tvs have. there are two ways to solve this though:

1. connect the video (yellow plug) to the tv. and the other two plugs (yellow and white) to the stereo. when i say stereo, its not the dvd home theater system that you have but a separate one. if you connect it to the home theater that you have, it'll just sound the same, you still have the delay.

2. connect the magic sing to the older tvs hangin out. and you'll get no problem at all.

**TVs such as sony, samsung, philips, sharp and all plasma tvs including other newly designed tvs will have the delay since they all share the HDMI thingy that causes sh*t.

My Intec Microphone for Wii has fried. The Wii recognizes it as a microphone when it is plugged in, however when we start playing High School Musical 3 Sing It, the microphone seems to be broken somehow,...

You can do 1 of 2 things. Contact the manufacturer of the Microphone and ask for a replacement or repair instructions or buy a new Microphone. If the microphone is fairly new, try returning it to the store for a replacement.

No sound when cd is playing, or on microphone

probably the amp section- I am working on a STVG-700 right now, the audio amp is mounted on the lowest circuit board in the case, includes the power supply except for the transformer. There are fuses mounted on this board, with luck that's all that blew on this. I know this problem is months old, but if you're like me and didn't get it fixed quickly, it's still sitting around somewhere...

Magic-Sing EG-18000 works, no sound

look and see if the RF light is coming on, if it is not then the transmitter (mic) is not on the same frequency as the receiver.

Microphone

It really depends on where you will be using the microphone and and whether it is just going to be used for fun at home or in a club oor for recording?

Some golden rules for microphone selection.
1) Make sure the microphone is Uni-Directional. This means it will only pick up sound from the direction it points in. You are less likely to get feedback or background intereference.
2) For a vocalist, make sure the mic is a reasonable size. If it is too small and you need to hold it, after a while it becomes fiddly and uncomfortable.
3) When singing always use a foam hood or pop filter with the microphone. This will reduce explosive sounds on the letter "P" etc.
4) Choose a microphone with a wide frequency response but not too much bass which can make vocals sound boomy.
5) Finally, the microphone must have a reasonable dynamic range so that if you suddenly shout it does not distort excessively, but it will also work when you speak or sing softly.
