I have the singing machine. Right in the middle
of a song the music quit and the microphones
stopped working. The cd is still spinning and
the graphics continue but you can't hear any
music or sound of any kind. I tried other cd's
but still no luck. I don't have it hooked up
to anything else, just electricity and micro-
Probably the amp section- I am working on a STVG-700 right now, the audio amp is mounted on the lowest circuit board in the case, includes the power supply except for the transformer. There are fuses mounted on this board, with luck that's all that blew on this. I know this problem is months old, but if you're like me and didn't get it fixed quickly, it's still sitting around somewhere...

You need a mixer. Connect the microphone to the mixer and also the background music. That way you have separate control of volume for the voice and the music.
The background noise can come from different sources. One of them is from the laptop itself, if the laptop is noisy to begin with.
You cannot use them to sing youtube songs the same way. Youtube hasn''t got the required software to recognize your singing and to recognize the required. If you wish to try the mics on other software then singstar you could try http://ultrastardx.sourceforge.net/ on your pc or other sing games on the ps3 as rockband.
The music to sing along with apparently MUST come from a disk played on the unit. It appears that the external audio jacks are just to use the unit as either a boombox or to drive a larger sound system. You will have to convert your IPOD music into a Karaoke compatible CD to be able to sing along with it... They probably detect MIC input and mute any incoming signals from the RCA jack inputs,
You can do 1 of 2 things. Contact the manufacturer of the Microphone and ask for a replacement or repair instructions or buy a new Microphone. If the microphone is fairly new, try returning it to the store for a replacement.
Maybe you could try to write anything more, so that someone else might understand it too. Are you running it through a noise gate? Maybe you should set the gate thresshold and decrease mic gain or send its signal through a limiter. Because singing "to the sides" of the microphones results in less volume(sound pressure on the diaphragm) than "singing to their top". Are you using a feedback killer/destroyer/whatever? Try to have the singers stand either behind the speakers or on the other side of the room. I recommend the first option-much better and easier. Are you running the signal through a mixing board? Is there a gain switch on the receiver of the microphones? if yes try to keeep it set i between halfway and three quarters of max, closer to the latter. If there is too much of signal coming from the microphone, the amplifiers overheat-preventing fuses might cut off the signal, if the mic gain is all the way up and the amp is close to similar heights...
And unless you are a trained singer using a professional condenser microphone or on a small loud live stage with a few monitors, there's no use to sing right in the "top" of the microphone. :) It's nicer from the side, or at least a bit offset.
ask if I missed something and try to be more in depth and specific, as I'm trying to be with my answers. and rate pls
You can not because the songs are in different format. the only thing that you can do is to use recording chip, insert in magic sing, record some songs or record your singing then upload it in your PC using the download manager CD and USB cable
the unit comes with a cd download manager (window XP) and a USB cable. the you can uploaaad your recorded songs in your PC.
