According to the manual a hard reset will erase all of the user data on the device and restore it to the factory settings. On the Palm Tungsten E2, you can do this by holding down the power button while pressing the reset button on the back of the device. When you release the power button, you will then confirm the hard reset by following the directions on the screen.

On your handheld, launch the Prefs application. Under General, select Security.

If the Password box says "Unassigned," tap the box and create a password for your handheld.

Once the password has been set, remove the stylus. Disconnect your handheld from the AC charger, if connected.

On your handheld, hold down the Power button.

While holding down the Power button, use the stylus to press the RESET button on the back of your handheld.

  1. While still holding the Power button, the screen will show the Palm logo and a progress bar. Then the circular Palm Powered logo will appear. Release the power button when you see the Palm Powered logo.

If you've set a password on your smartphone, any hard reset will automatically become a Factory Reset. With this method, you'll enter a password and then perform a hard reset.
On your smartphone, launch the Security application.

3.Once the password has been set, disconnect your smartphone from the AC charger and take off the battery cover. Do not remove the battery yet.
4.Hold down Power/End .
5.While holding down Power/End , remove the battery. Then insert it again.

My palm just displays ''Palm Powered'' Tried soft reset

Have you tried a hard reset? Just remember a hard reset will delete everything on your device. All your data will be deleted, and formats, preferences and other settings are restored to their factory default settings. Don't perform a hard reset unless you've backed up your data, or you're willing to lose everything. Here is a link with the directions:

How do I perform a hard reset?

press and hold up on the navigation key, while holding up press the reset button with your stylus, continue to hold the up button until you see "palm powered" come up on your screen.

WARNING: this will erase ALL data on your palm and restore to factory settings, so First hotsync and back up all contacts, data, and programs before doing this. Also fire up the palm desktop to make sure everything was backed up before you hard reset your device.

Hi,

You can do a hard reset to completely restore all the data of your palm.But this will erase all your current settings and restore it to the factory default.Factory default is nothing but it restores the device to the settings when you purchased this one.Reply back to me and i'll tell you how to do a hard reset.

Palm M515 general failure

You may perform full reset by pressing the reset and power button together. If issue persists you may try disconnecting the battery about 10 minutes and connect back. That procedure will erase all user data and will set the unit to the factory default
