Restarted ice maker and water filled tray and fingers went to home (10 o'clock position) Later the fingers were at 4 o'clock position and seemed frozen in the tray. I ran a diagnostic test on the ir system and everything was fine. I jumper thr ice maker and the fingers went to home and water filled the tray also tray was warm during this cycle. And water filled filled the tray. Now fingers are at 4 o'clock again. HELP!

May be an issue with the cam that operates the ice maker. U can pick up a new ice maker for about 40 bucks on ebay.

Lots of things could be bogus. If the solenoid does not open, no water in tray - no ice. If tray does not get warm for fingers, fingers cannot push ice out - no ice. If freezer is not at least 10 degrees, no ice making at all. If cam motor for maker is bogus, anything could be out of whack.

Make sure that the ice maker is in "on" mode.

Is the freezer section below 17 degrees F? Did the ice maker get switched off by accident? Does the ice maker solenoid valve "click" when trying to fill with water?

SOURCE: Frozen ejector arm

sounds more like the heater in the ice maker is bad. The cycles of the ice maker are: 1. water comes in to fill ice maker. 2. water freezes in ice maker making. 3. heater comes on to help ice release. 4. motor comes on to eject the ice and start all over again. if the heater doesn't come on the ice will not eject. replacing the icemaker is typically what needs to be done in this case.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Refrigerator Model ED25PW Ice maker tray not filling with water

  1. Check to see if water is flowing @ the water inlet valve @ the rear of the unit. You can remove it and clean if out-then put it back in service. You can purchase a new valve -- maybe @ home depot.

SOURCE: LG Ice maker

I got the same problem where the plate is cold and the water does not fill - saw this comment from other posting and help. Basically, the ice maker was stalled! Make sure you can see the green light is on, which means you have power. if its lit, press and hold the cube size button until i/m starts to cycle. If i/m runs, but does not fill then your water valve is bad. If i/m will not start then your i/m is at fault.

If your water valve is good and your filter is not in need of replacing then you probable need a new icemaker, yes.

Ice maker not getting water on new refrigerator

Check if the unit has a cold water dispenser that it will fill a cup. If so than problem is with Ice Maker. If not than problem is with water supply to unit.
If water to machine works make sure that the arm on the ice maker is in the down position. If it is up it will disable the ice making unit. Cycle the am a few times to insure that the switch connected to the arm has not gotten stuck in the off position.

On some ice makers there is a separate switch to disable the Ice maker usually right on the ice-maker not easily missed.

It is possible that the water feed tube into the Ice Maker has become frozen where it enters into the back of the freezer at the top. You can look through to see where the water fills into the cube tray. If ice is present it would be an indication that the feed tube has become frozen If suspected the safest way to fix would be to turn off the unit and allow for a manual defrost.

Next check the operation of the ice maker. Locate the arm in the up position prohibiting the ice maker from cycling. Wait three hours or more. Open freezer door and return the arm into the down position. After a few minutes you should observe the ice fingers rotating to release the cubes into the tray. If the fingers do not rotate I would suspect the ice maker or the connecting electrical circuit. Remember after dropping the arm the Ice Maker has to warm up to melt the ice cubes from the tray before the fingers are told to rotate,

If the fingers rotate then I would expect that the water supply solenoid has failed inside of the unit near to the location the the water supply is made. Replacing this part needs to be done by a qualified experienced technician.

BROKEN INFRARED ICE CONTROL - ON WHIRLPOOL SIDE BY SIDE. CAN I REPLACE THAT PART?

Hi,

The part you need to replace is 4389102 this comes with both boards and replace them as a pair. I have a question though, is the harvest fingers in the ice maker at position like a clock? Also to confirm the flashing of the light when the flap is depressed it 2 flashes and a pause? Not 1 flash and a pause, this means unit is harvesting and the ice maker should be moving and if not the ice maker could have a broken gear. This control unit could run you about 100 buck so make sure this is what you need before your purchase. Good Luck

The Ice maker seems to have stop making Ice... There seems to be water getting to the Ice maker.... Placed fingers inside of voide and there seems to be water but it is not freezing......... can you help

Have a look under the icemaker itself. See if there is a "test" button or switch. If so, press it , the ice tray should dispense the ice made and then return to its original position, then refil with water. Also make sure your water filter is clean or replaced if its more than 6 months old.

Ice maker not working

Cause could be the solenoid valve which controls water flow into the ice maker.

Could be bad solenoid, bad relay for solenoid, clogged solenoid valve, corroded electrical connections, etc.

Freezer leaking water

My Whirlpool has been filling the bottom under the crispers with water and leaking out the vents (?) from the freezer down into the fridge compartment. I finally caught it today being rather loud, probably in a defrost cycle, and it was positively POURING in the fridge. After some more research on this site I removed the freezer bottom tray (1/4" ratchet needed) and found a layer of 1/2" thick ice under the tray. My guess is the drain hole iced up. Removed all the ice from under the tray and on the metal drain run in the back (danger, seemed sharp) and put it all back together. I didn't try to pour hot water down the drain yet, thinking positive thoughts that the drain itself isn't iced all the way to the tray near the floor. Will watch it carefully.

Amana Side-by-Side Fridge Model SBD21VPSE Problem started when water stopped flowing from in-door dispenser and ice maker stopped making ice. I emptied fridge and freezer, left unit off for several...

If there is a reset button on your ice maker try pushing it. Many ice makers have two holes for reset. A general rule of thumb is if the ice maker fingers are stopped in a slightly vertical position then your ice maker unit is working. If the fingers are stopped anywhere else then it needs some sort of attention or replaced. Make sure there is water, or ice in the ice maker tray, if not then the problem is with water supply.

Kenmore Side by Side Refrigerator Ice Maker Not Working

A couple things to check here. First see if there is ice in the tray. If so chances are the ice maker will need to be replaced however these are very reliable ice makers. If no ice in the tray pull up on the ejector blade (don't worry you won't break it) turn clockwise to start the ice maker thru a cycle. The ejector blade is the long white bar with fingers on it that run the length of the tray. Once it completes a cycle it should fill with water. If no water then either the fill tube is frozen over and will need to be defrosted or the water valve is bad.
