It could have been a "trojan" that was imitating the "look-and-feel" of Microsoft Security Essentials software, trying to convince you to download 'ThinkPoint' -- which itself could be a computer-virus.

Can you use "System Restore" to go "back" in time to a checkpoint created a few days ago,
i.e., before your computer was infected?

Cannot access gaming servers

It seems as though the files that are used to play minecraft are either compromised or malwarebytes are seeing them as a threat. You can see details from the malwarebytes scan to see what files it is flagging for removal. Look at this list and see if any of the file paths are in minecraft. You may need to do a virus scan as well as there are a few free ones on line. have you tried installing minecraft as well?

How to remove/delete 'conduit.search.com'?

conduit.search.com is a adware.

I recommend that you install a good anti - Virus application and scan your computer.

For the time being you can use Malwarebytes. It works good for these Trojans. Please install it and then scan the computer. It would be better if you scan the computer in safe mode.

You can download Malwarebytes from:
http://downloads.malwarebytes.org/mbam-download.php

Additionally also scan the computer with Eset Online Scanner.
Eset Online Scanner

**Note** You will need to use Internet explorer for this scan - Vista and win 7 right click on IE shortcut and run as admin

Go Eset web page to run an online scanner from ESET.
  • Turn off the real time scanner of any existing antivirus program while performing the online scan
  • click on the Run ESET Online Scanner button
  • Tick the box next to YES, I accept the Terms of Use.
    • Click Start
  • When asked, allow the add/on to be installed
    • Click Start
  • Make sure that the option Remove found threats is unticked
  • Click on Advanced Settings, ensure the options
    • Scan for potentially unwanted applications, Scan for potentially unsafe applications, and Enable Anti-Stealth Technology are ticked.
  • Click Scan
  • wait for the virus definitions to be downloaded
  • Wait for the scan to finish
When the scan is complete
  • If no threats were found
    • put a checkmark in "Uninstall application on close"
    • close program
    • report to me that nothing was found
  • If threats were found
    • click on "list of threats found"
    • click on "export to text file" and save it as ESET SCAN and save to the desktop
    • Click on back
    • put a checkmark in "Uninstall application on close"
    • click on finish
    • close program

HP Pavalian laptop screen gone black and blank.

It seems like the lcd back light may have failed can you see a faint image on the screen when you look really close, try it with a torch. If you dont see even the faintest image the inverter has failed and needs to be replaced. If you look on youtube again and search for videos of replacing both the back light and the inverter it will give you some info on how to change them. Do a google search for hp spares and you will probably find what you are looking, i think the inverter is about £30 and the back light is bit cheaper. hope this helps.

Recovery of 2601 hp pavilian

You cant. Unless you create them yourself. HP will only allow back up disks to be created once. HP sucks. Sorry. You may try Best Buy's Geeksquad..they may have ones that they have backed up.
