If the repair man left a service call report it should be listed on it.
If you turn on the dryer and manually move the timer through a cycle will it shut off when moved to the end of cycle?

Does the dryer dry fine? If your dryer is taking too long too dry you might have a venting obstruction that is not allowing the dryer too sense that the clothes are dry so the timer won't advance. Try disconnecting the vent from the back of the dryer and dry a load unvented and see if the timer advances.

  • Most reparable companies will offer a warranty on service if the timer won't advance still and your invoice shows it was replaced i'd call your tech back.

My Maytag Atlantis Intellidry Dryer won't start unless I move it around

If you have to move the whole machine then I would say you have a bad wire somewhere. If you have to move the timer around then you have a bad timer.

My maytag dependable care plus electric dryer doesn't shut off

Does the timer move when it's almost ready to shut off if not most likely need a timer. Can you turn it by hand to finish the cycle and shut it off. If not must be timer.
Hope this helps

The Dryer stopped and will not start again

Just had a similar problem with our Maytag Electric Dryer. The dryer shut off mid-cycle and wouldn't start again, but the timer kept running. We purchased a "Thermal fuse replacement kit" at a local appliance parts store for $38 and replaced the fuse ourselves. The dryer is running great! Here's a couple of website links that were helpful in figuring out out how to replace the fuse: http://www.partselect.com/repair.aspx?appliance=dryer&part=replace-thermal-fuse

Mytag Dryer ModelLdg4000Aw

I have a Maytag Atlantis Gas Dryer that will turn on, rotate, but will not get hot and dry the clothes. A load of clothes in the afternoon, didn’t dry, tried again but didn’t dry – went to bed after putting on auto dry - next morning the dryer was still rotating and didn’t turn off. No hot air – only cold air.

timeout...I'm guessing you mean that the timer on off doesn't turn anything off. If this is a mechanical timer unit, the contacts are welded. If electronic, your relay is probably welded. Replace the item. If you do go inside, unplug the unit, and then find the relay or contact set and see if they are actually welded. Most units have a diagram on the back. Follow it through with a multitester.

Electric Dryer problem

the timer has a small motor to advance the timer. the motor is the likely problem. on some old maytags you can get just the motor, but you probably will have to replace the complete timer. hope this helps.
