You will need to check the wireless settings of the router
is there any computer connected to the router ?
If yes then you can open the router set up page on that computer.
Router set up page is the page where you can check all the wireless settings of the router.

I have the belkin router in my home and one of my laptops are not picking up the signal for the router

Hi,

Probably the Router signal strength is low.
You need to open the EWS page ( Router configuration page ) and increase the signal strength to 11 ( it must be Auto or 1,2,3, etc )

EWS Page ( Router page ) can be opened using the Router IP Address which may be 192.168.1.1 or if you know it. Open Internet Explorer and enter the ip address and hit enter ( without www or .com )

Under Wireless configuration or settings you will find the Channel Strength. You need to restart your Laptop to get connected again to the network after saving the settings are you will loose the internet connection.

Regards,
Shawn

I have just purchased a belkin enhanced wireless usb adapter N 150, i have managed to install the software and and connect to my router, the signal strength is strong, but when clicking on to internet...

Take an Ethernet cable, and connect one of the LAN ports on the router to the network-port on your computer. If you cannot get Internet access, then it is the router that is the problem, namely, that the 'WAN' side of the router has not connected to the Internet.

My icon says I only have 80% signal strength, is

80% is a good signal strength....but if you want to increase the signal strength, then you need to move the wireless router to a very ventilated area, also the router should be placed atleast 5 feet away from other electronic devices like, modem, ups, microwave ovens, refrigerators etc.... also there should be a line of sight between the router and the wi-fi adapter... but in order to connect to a wireless network 25% of signal strength is enough....

Connect my Lynksys WRT54G2 Router with my Belkin (F5D6231-4)

You can connect 2 routers to each other. But the IP address will be different for both the routers .
It will be better to keep different names for the wireless network.
If you keep the same name, then it doesn't mean that the signal strength will be good. Because both the routers will broadcast their own signals.
If you want to increase the signal strength then you can purchase a wireless range expander.

My Internet radio operates off the Belkin router if the two devices are in the same room. The internet radio does not work if it is in adjoining room approximately 15 metres away. This is a new problem.

  • internet radio may require more signal strength, that is why the farther you are the weaker the signal, you may need an access point to extend the signal strength

Would a neighbors linksys router interfere with my belkin connection?

do check the signal strength of the wireless connection..you can improve signal by removing any big objects between the compu and the router/access point and/or re positioning the router.also intervening walls will affect signal..the fact that you are getting a linksys signal impilies that your home network signal is weak..hope it helps!

I recently purchased a Hawking HSB2 Signal Booster. Two years ago, my son installed a Toshiba Cable modem(PCX2200)and a Belkin Wireless Router(model#F5D7230-4)for Camcast High Speed Internet. The Router...

Booster will only work along with access points in your case the belkin wireless router - you have to connect the device to the router not to the windows xp pc

if you know how to configure and the device are compatiable to each other and allows bridging or can configure as your access point client then you need not wanna to get it connected via wire or T568b standard ethernet cable otherwise you have to connect with this cable will enchance the wireless activity

Wireless signals can go down its strength by any magnetic activity, oscillations such as microwave, powerful steel/metal frames and check your anteena position keep in different direction and check your pc wifi signal strength.

Interlink between your router and booster with utp cables gives you steady flow of data and full band strength.

Aviod using two company devices change the router to Hawking

Belkin router

The fact that it sometimes works and sometimes not, would indicate that maybe your wireless signal strength is poor. Try moving the router and/or antenna and recheck the signal strength. If you would provide more details about the problem and your setup it may be helpful in diagnosing the problem.
