Thanks! I have a 7x Crosscut Paper Shredder, Model # PCUA:29053U. The teeth are jammed due to I believe a build up of paper. I have run it on reverse & tried to pick out the paper. The motor runs but the teeth rotor does not move. Suggestions? Can I open th etop & clean out the teeth?

If the motor runs but the cutting teeth dont turn then you have stripped or broken a gear in the drive train. You can get replacement parts from Royal at 1-800-524-0799.
Thanks! I called and the cost of the gear was only $2.00, with shipping it came to $6.04. That is a whole lot better than another $50-$70. Good people at Royal. Thanks! Paper shredders have a main switch and a couple of safety switches, the first of these is the one buried in the slot so the cutters are only moving when sheet paper is inserted and this switch has a very light return spring and flimsy linkage that easily jammed with paper scraps or easily displaced or sometimes it gets broken. The other switch prevents operation unless the unit is standing squarely on a container. Now my shredder is a few years old the unit has to be repositioned a couple of times before the latter switch engages.
The units benefit from being taken apart periodically and the buildup of dust and paper sraps cleaned out and maybe a brief spray of a dry lubricant around the moving parts.
The Royal cx-6 shredder is a small consumer shredder rated for "up to 6 sheets at a time" so yes it will jam with anything more that 6.
If running it in reverse won't work you will have to try to open it up and see if you can manually turn things to get the paper back out...there is no other way if it wont run in reverse...hopefully when you have the paper removed the machine will still function.
Some shredders aren't designed to shred anything more than paper. Credit cards, staples, paper clips and the like could have jammed it up. Try running the shredder in reverse and oiling the blades. More help with paper shredder oil here: http://hubpages.com/hub/Paper-Shredder-Oil
If you can't get the paper shredder up and running, it looks like you might have to pick up a new paper shredder. Paper shredders can be pretty cheap though, great guide to cheap paper shredders here: http://hubpages.com/hub/Best-Paper-Shredders
Teeth underneath lid are jammed; sometimes (especially after a long session) although the papers go through, debris builds up and can get caught in the teeth; to clear unplug and with tweezers or a tina flathead screwdriver, pull out shreds of paper still caught
Motor is overheated; once cool, try it again (move switch to reverse to see if motor is still working). If motor is working, see Step 1 for a jam; some jams can be cleared by running it in reverse. Royal doesn't recommend "long" shredding sessions. My unit recommends sessions of 20 pages or less. If you try to overwork the shredder, it will overheat and in some cases, fry the motor.
I hope this helps answer your problem. Best of luck! Greg
