I CAN FIX IT! There are links that show you how to repair this issue yourself (but they are not very clear and every thing is very fragile inside the XBOX 360) or you can contact me via reply on here and we can discuss the issue further as I recently repaired my XBOX 360 with the same issues and it works better than when was brand new. It is a heat sync problem that has to be repaired by someone with indepth electronics knowledge. THERE ARE OTHER EASIER ISSUE TO REPAIR I JUST NEED MORE SPECIFICS AS TO PROBLEMS EXPERIENCED. try this link as well http://www.zimbio.com/Xbox+360/articles/332/One+Light+Two+Lights+Three+Lights+More

3 red lights flashing around the power button and nothing on the screen .

This is an indication of a "General Hardware Failure". There are ways to fix, but they will void your warranty. Contact Microsoft at (800) 4MY-XBOX to see if the console is still under warranty.

Picture freeze and pinstrip on the screen

When a Microsoft Xbox 360 console experiences a "general hardware" failure or "core digital" failure, three flashing red lights appear (known as the "Red Ring of Death") around the power button, in lieu of the four green lights indicating normal operation. Warning signs may include freeze-ups, in which the screen has strange, spontaneous graphical problems in the middle of gameplay, such as checkerboard or pinstripe patterns on the screen, the sound is frozen and changed to a strange, static-like sound, and the console only responds to pressing the power button to turn it off. These events may happen once or several times until the general hardware failure occurs, when the user attempts to turn the console on, and the three red lights are seen and the console will not function.

this sounds like it will error e74 which will need a reflow
but dont overheat with a towel as this will cause more problems

How can I fix "Red ring of death" on my XBox 360

Three flashing red lights around the Xbox 360 power button (nicknamed the "Red Ring of Death" or "Red Lights of Death" or "Red Ring of Doom"), instead of the one to four green lights indicating normal operation, represent an internal problem that requires service. Warning signs may include freeze-ups, graphical problems in the middle of gameplay, such as checkerboard or pinstripe patterns on the screen, and sound errors, and the console only responds to pressing the power button to turn it off. These events may happen once or several times until the hardware failure occurs, or not at all. If the console freezes occasionally, the error will not necessarily follow. The technical problems seem to affect some generations of consoles more than others. e.g. Xbox 360 60GB This error code is usually caused by failure of one or more hardware components, although it can indicate that the console is not receiving enough power from the power supply, which can either be due to a faulty power supply or if the power supply cable is not fully inserted into the console. The 3 flashing lights can also be caused by power surges; if the console is connected to an outlet that receives a power surge, it may have a failure and the 3 lights will appear as long as the console is plugged into the outlet. Turning off the console, unplugging all power cables and plugging them back in, and restarting the console will fix the issue in this case. hope this helps

When I turned on my system, it had system error contact xbox customer support. There is a red light flashing on the bottom right, around the power button. I don't know what to do. Please help.

Some of us suddenly when we turn on our Xbox 360 console one day we got one red light flashes on the ROL (Ring of Light) around the Xbox 360 power button, and we got an Error message appearing on the TV screen "System error" also might occur with any error code like E66, E67, E68, E71, E74 or E77, all the same.

When you get any of these messages appearing on your screen with one red light flashing on the ROL of your Xbox 360 console that's an indicator of a hardware problem with the console connection to one of the parts connected to it as the hard drive or cables.

So, first disconnect all power and AV cables from the back of your Xbox 360 console and also unplug the power cord from the wall socket, wait for a minute then reconnect them all back and try to turn on your Xbox 360 console once more.

If that doesn't work, it seems then to be a fault with your Xbox 360 hard drive so turn off the console again and remove the hard drive then turn on your Xbox 360 console without the hard drive, supposed then to work fine, it might be an intermittent issue and when you reconnect the hard drive your Xbox 360 will work fine all after, or it will just work fine without the hard drive so it will be then definitely a fault with your Xbox 360 hard drive so call Xbox 360 customer support to exchange the hard drive for you.

The Xbox 360 console might even keep giving you the same error code even after you remove the hard drive so it will then appear to be a fault with your Xbox 360 console not the hard drive & also in a case like this we need to contact Xbox 360 customer support to exchange the console.

Trying to turn xbox on and getting blinking red ring around power button

If you are having three red lights flashing around the power button with upper right corner not flashing, it means that your Xbox 360 is having a general hardware failure. This is caused by the internal components of the console experiencing a malfunction. You can contact Microsoft Xbox Support for it to be repaired.

When i turn my xbox 360 on it starts running hard then the controller lights on the device start flashing red.

Four lights around the power button flash red on your Xbox 360 console. Four flashing lights indicates that the console does not detect an audio/video (AV) cable.
Note Four flashing red lights will not appear on consoles that have both an AV port and an HDMI port.

4 red lights flashing

Hi there,

The TV screen or monitor remains black when you start an Xbox 360 console.

This behavior may occur with or without a game disc in the disc tray. The console appears to be on because the green power light illuminates and the fan continues to operate. However, the screen remains black.
