I have rca model f36705 i get sound but no picture i get a grey screen.i can still pull up the tv menu and guide i also only sound when i play a dvd.

are they horizontal or diagonal? if they are diagonal it could be you're brightness is turned up too high. try turning it down.

Have you tried going into sound settings and seeing if the sound output is set to Tv speakers and not external sound system?

There is a switch in the back of the tv for internal and external speakers. check to see if it is on the internal position.

And you have selected the HDMI2 input in the TV menu? If yes, try the dvd on another TV, if you have one. Also try reversing the HDMI cable.

your cameras may have gone bad

This happened to me. Unplugg the TV and let it sit idle for ATLEAST 20min.  Remove the rear cover of the TV. BECAREFUL NOT TO TOUCH THE TUBE OR COMPASITOR THERE MAY TIL BE POWER TO IT!  You should see a (3) prong wire that is black+white+and grey. That wire is most likely disconnected. You will see where it plugs into the board. 

It was the zoom !! I lost the tv remote, I went to Radio Shack for a Universal remote and they didn't have one with a Zoom button,
The tv menu doesn't have a Zoom button either...Finally found one that works and all is WELL! Depending on what the tv station transmits, the screen size changes in the auto-matic selection in the menu.

• adjust brightness setting when playing tv.
• adjust screen control located on flyback transformer.

Does the video work on the RF coax cable input?

For instance,as a test,can you hook-up from VCR coax RF out

to TV coax in,put the TV on Chan. 3,play a tape and get audio and video?

 

Are you matching colors when trying the A/V inputs?Yellow,red,

and white out of DVD to yellow,red and white in on back of TV?

Then select video input on tv===dial "00" or use input button on

original RCA remote. Are you using original RCA remote that

came w/TV ? Do you have the owner/operator manual for the TV?
