When the pwoer is turned on, the TV sounds like a motor is running (perhaps a fan) but it sounds labored. The picture is dark for a few seconds and then it appears but the color is off and the images flicker a bit. My husband thinks it's the color wheel and I'm wondering if it's the lamp and lamp fan. Help!
My tv started turning on and off after one year (13 mos). I replaced
the lamp myself and its rolling along 6 mos now. The fan sounds like
it's about to exit the back of the set. can the fan be replaced or is
it the unit you all are talking about?- the picture began to get distorted then the picture went out completely. now there is this motor sound coming from the set.-
Your husband is correct it is most likely your color wheel very common and it will effect the picture. what will happen soon is your tv will not turn on. The cost is two possiablities. color wheel replacement 225,00 part is 80,00 complete light engine in rear cases cost is 650.00 dollars . I hope this helps
