Tv appears to be stuck in auto-detect mode

We bought a 32" Samsung flat screen in March this year and now it is scrolls thru menu options as if it's doing some auto-detect. cannot get into menu and use menu, because then the TV scrolls thru those options repeatedly.
already tried disconnecting everything and reconnecting everything--scrolling problem happens regardless of whether the TV is connected to XBOX 360 or not.
tried to get into menu and select auto-detect, but due to constant scrolling activity of TV, we can't select anything.

All I can suggest is press down and hold your menu button on the remote and roll around in circles. Also try it with the menu button on the TV.It definitely sounds like it is being pushed down enough to be stuck. If that does not work please write back and in the meantime I will research it a little further.Bought in March huh?90 day waranty too I bet?How long has this been going on?If it does not work,I am also providing a link to Samsung to contact them. You will need probably model number and serial number. If you have the receipt, registered it,or have a credit statement to show when you bought it,and you are really persistent, they will usually do something about it.Samsung is supposed to be one of the best TV's too.I am surprised by this issue.Good luck!

Even if my suggestion works with holding the button down and rolling it in circles but the same problem happens 1 or 2 more times, call Samsung. Also,if you call Samsung and the phone representative will not help, ask for a supervisor.

Hi Greg, I was wondering if you had found any other solutions regarding this issue. I have a friend that is having the same issue and can't figure out was to do. tried your method and still stuck.

How do I remove the 3rd party voice on my tv.

Well Terry, On your remote go to the Menu. Scroll down to the Audio option. Seems like you have captioning on. Simply turn it off. Depending on the model year of your TV it could be as easy as the button on the remote control.

How do I remove the starting sound made by my Samsung plasma tv?

On your Samsung remote, press the MENU button. At the bottom of your screen you will have the setup selections. Scroll over to the SOUND option and select that. A menu should appear and toward the bottom of the menu you should see MELODY. Scroll down to that and select ON or OFF.

Bought this TV used and was told it needed a ballast board. I spoke with the tech that worked on it and was told a supply board as well as possibly needing a new bulb. I've replaced all three with no...

Sir when replacing the bulb you should reset the lamp hour meter. 1. while on the standby mode press "mute" then the numbers 1,8 and 2 in succession, and press the power button.
2. wait until "loading factory" appears on your screen and the service menu is displayed with the lamp life hours. You will see a list of service options.
3. Scroll down to "option" and press "enter". next you will see "reset lamp" where you will press again the "enter" button. good day and best regards.

How do you turn off the screen saver on the 50" plasma tv

When you are in 'TV' mode press the MENU button on the remote. Click on 'picture' then scroll down to picture options and press enter. Scroll to the bottom and click on 'Burn Screen Protection'. You then need to turn off the 'Auto Protection time'. After this, it is a good idea to go to pixel shift, turn it on and set values 4, 4, 1 for Horizontal, Vertical and Time respectively. (You can set your own options though). XD. Jacob.

    Samsung LE32R74BDX 32 in......

just spoke to Samsung support and it turns out that the freeview tuner had froze and needed resetting. To do this put TV on standby and then push in series these buttons on the remote: 'info, menu, mute, power' the TV will then turn itself on and display a menu. Press the 'down arrow' untill you've highlighted option 12 - 'reset' and then press the 'right arrow' to enter the option. TV will turn off and when you turn back on it will start in 'plug & play' mode as if new. Set the time and country options and then it will perform a complete scan. I've just retuned mine and all back to normal. Hoorah!!!! :-)
