After typing the acces code on my chryslers car radio the display says WAIT 2 HR

WAIT 1 HR means wrong codes have been entered previously

To restore, leave SWITCHED ON ..UNDISTURBED for as long as it takes to automatically reset itself

In this case it should be 1 hour

Hello, you will need to enter your radio unlock code using these instructions.

1. Press SEEK DOWN, SEEK UP, TUNE DOWN, or TUNE UP. The radio display should show 0000.

you turn the ignition to acc or on and use the hour and min buttons to enter the 4 digit code if you are not the original owner it may be written down in the owners maual. if it is not written down it is possible a code was not assigned in this case it will be all 0's and you just need to push the power knob. if it says sec. then you have successfully unlocked the radio if not you will need to go to the dealership so they can unlock it. or you can try this

1. Turn the ignition ON (The radio should display "LOC")
2. Hold down the Radio Presets 2 and 3 buttons for six seconds
3. The radio display changes from LOC to a three-digit number. Write this number down. You now have fifteen seconds to complete the next step.
4. Press the AM/FM button
5. The radio display changes to another three-digit number. Write this number to the right of the first one.
6. You now have a six-digit number, the first three digits are from STEP 03 and the last three digits are form STEP 05

On my Neon you enter the 4 digit code using the channel preset buttons if your code is say 2435 press channel 2, then channel 4, channel 3 & channel 5 it should then fire up ok.

The code was wrong. After tree wrong codes and you shoud wait (acc "on"). After that you must enter the right code.

This solution is for a 1999 Grand Am SE am/fm radio with tape cassette player:
Ido not know if this works for other Grand Am products past or prior 1999.
If the lcd display of the radio indicates "LOC" if you do not see anything on the display the small light behind the display is out and you need electronics to go further. If LOC appears here is what to do:
First put the ignition key to the ACC position.
2- press the HR clock adjust button once only ; the display should read 000
3-push the HR button successively until you reach 17 on the radio display 4-then press on the MN (minutes) button again until you reach the number 42
5-when the number 1742 appears on the display, press on the AM/FM button once and after on the POWER/VOL button to power up the radio.

If you have the right code for radio, you just be waiting (acc on) so long time that you can enter the code.

If you turn acc "off" the counter is starts at beginning in next time when you turn acc "on".

I had once same problem, so I took the radio from car, connected to 12V power supply over night. Next morning I enter code and radio was ok.
