I went to Radio Shack an purchased a 15 dollar Phillips universal remote and it worked after entering one code for sylvania combo tv's. I did the Happy dance and now I can watch my tv again. ONE FOR ALL® URC6131n Universal Remote Control JiggyChic
unplug tv for about half a hour and replug it back in to reset it and see if that works..I also have that big remote and it worked find for me the first time so maybe tv just needs to be reset. hope that helps
There is no code!!! -- Solution...You have to buy a universal remote with learning capabilities. I’ve ordered one that will not only learn off other remotes but can handle 10 components also. I got it from 10x it’s called the iconRemote control…if you call the company they will give you a discount (but you have to call them and ask) AWESOME!
It sounds more like a problem with the TV, than the remotes. It's possible that the IR reciever or microprocessor for it have pooped out. It's something that would have to be serviced by a shop, but due to the age and size it would likely be cheaper to replace the whole TV.
